Context: Cisplastin (CDDP) is a chemotherapeutic drug frequently used to manage a variety of cancers. However, its use is associated with hepatorenal toxicity resulting from elevated reactive oxygen species production.

Objective: Herein, the hepatorenal protective effect of -butylhydroquinone (tBHQ) in cisplatin (CDDP)-treated rats was examined.

Microwave Absorbing properties of metal functionalized-CNT-polymer composite for stealth applications.

In this study, we report on the electrical properties of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) composites functionalized with metal or metal alloy oxides and embedded in a polyurethane matrix to develop a lightweight material for microwave absorption and shielding. The CNT nanoparticles are functionalized with metallic oxides such as Cobalt oxide, Iron oxide, and Cobalt Iron oxide, at three different concentrations. Metallic oxides are used at 5%, 10%, and 20% concentration of the total CNT percentage weight.

Longwave infrared, single-frequency, tunable, pulsed optical parametric oscillator based on orientation-patterned GaAs for gas sensing.

We demonstrate a nanosecond single-frequency nested cavity optical parametric oscillator (NesCOPO) based on orientation-patterned GaAs (OP-GaAs). Its low threshold energy of 10 μJ enables to pump it with a pulsed single-frequency Tm:YAP microlaser. Stable single-longitudinal-mode emission is obtained owing to Vernier spectral filtering provided by the dual-cavity doubly-resonant NesCOPO scheme.

Tunable optical parametric amplification of a single-frequency quantum cascade laser around 8 μm in ZnGeP2.

We demonstrate optical parametric amplification in ZnGeP(2) (ZGP) of the radiation emitted by a single-frequency continuous-wave quantum cascade laser (QCL) in the range 7.8-8.4 μm.
