In this study, primary caregivers of autistic preschoolers were surveyed (n = 95) and a selection were then interviewed (n = 19) to understand how early, therapeutic supports were accessed by families in Australia following the establishment of a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The aim of this study was to retrospectively assess the 48-hour mortality rate in interhospital transfer cohorts of all transfers to a Central Texas teaching hospital and to identify a primary admitting diagnosis for potential intervention. A total of 15,435 patients with 19,161 transfers over the course of the study were retrospectively reviewed and placed in 18 different categories based upon the primary admitting diagnosis.

Methods: The unblinded trial aimed to recruit patients who had completed treatment of cervical, endometrial, epithelial ovarian, or vulval cancer within the previous 3 months at 3 North Wales hospitals. We randomized participants to either usual hospital-based follow-up or specialist nurse-led telephone education, empowerment, and structured needs assessment follow-up.
Objective: Active lifelong cognitive lifestyles increase cognitive reserve and have beneficial effects on global cognition, cognitive decline and dementia risk in Parkinson's disease (PD). Executive function is particularly impaired even in early PD, and this impacts on quality of life. The effects of lifelong cognitive lifestyle on executive function in PD have not been studied previously.
