The article presents results of research evaluating psychoemotional condition of patients with the malignant tumour diagnosis both single and having their family's support. The research results showed the difference in mood, health and general activity, situational anxiety and aggression. The received results can be considered when preparing elderly patients for operation and during the post operational period for the purpose of psychological maintenance and minimization of complications.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA comparative study of the foci of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) has revealed that the infectivity of vectors taiga ticks (Ixodes persulcatus) plays the leading role in the formation of foci with the highest epidemic activity (including forest steppe ones). The morbidity rates in each regional focus are directly related to the number of tick-bitten persons and to the quantity of the vector.

Under migration pressure, sanitary educational work is ineffective in the endemic area: newcomers' awareness of opisthorchiasis does not improve as their residence prolongs, the number of persons who recognize the harm of eating of raw fish and meat is increased. Hygienic education of newcomers is late and done only among a part of their contingent. Its unconvincing character is confirmed by late referral of those infected for being treated and struck off the register.

On the basis of some epidemiological criteria, the work gives grounds for distinguishing the category of "new settlers" among the whole number of "newcomers". The time necessary for the social adaptation of new settlers is estimated, which makes it possible to take them into account together with permanent residents. The scheme of the division of the population according to the duration of their residence in the endemic area is proposed.

A correlation between opisthorchiasis epidemic process and population migration is reviewed at the third stage of the migration process (the formation of the migration flow, resettlement as such, and settlement of migrants in a new place) in view of the prevention of infection in conditions of the population migration. The endemic situation in the areas between which there is population migration is considered as the initial point. A simplified method for the calculation of the number of infected persons among the migrants from the endemic territories is described.

Invasion irradiation from the endemic area through intermediate hosts is practically impossible, while through the definite hosts, wild fish-eating mammals, it is limited.

The first quantitative indicators of opisthorchiasis irradiation from the invasion focus at the social level are obtained. It was demonstrated that 114.000 out of 1 mln.

The portion of virus strains with different virulence in the total number of strains (92) studied in both TBE foci under comparison did not differ significantly. Virus strains antigenically differing from the known prototype TBE virus variants (persulcatus and ricinus) and at the same time representing antigenically homogeneous group were found to be circulating in Western Siberia natural TBE foci.

Viral strains from the foci of tick-borne encephalitis in Western Siberia and the Far East, producing the disease which takes the clinical course of different severity, have been shown to possess similar biological properties. A high mortality rate in the foci of tick-borne encephalitis in the Primorye Territory is the consequence of the weak latent immunization of the population, which is due, in its turn, to some specific features of the epizootic process in this area.
