Article Synopsis
  • Sulfanilic acid (SFA) crystal is a versatile material used in photonics and biomedical applications, and this article discusses the growth of a high-quality SFA single crystal using the slow evaporation solution method over 75 days.
  • The resulting transparent crystal, measuring 5 × 5 × 2 mm, underwent various characterizations such as Single Crystal XRD, FTIR, UV-Visible analysis, and Scanning Electron Microscopy to assess its structural and optical properties.
  • Notably, this study is the first to explore the cytotoxicity and larvicidal activity of SFA crystal, testing its efficacy against cancer cells and potential anti-malarial properties using the MTT Assay.

Lepidagathis cristata (L. cristata) plant produces reducing and capping agents; this study utilized microwave-assisted biogenic synthesis to manufacture silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using this plant. The structure, morphology, and crystallinity phases of prepared nanoparticles (NPs) were characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-viz), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
