Introduction: Studies have demonstrated successful outcomes with early weightbearing following open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) of specific ankle fractures. The external validity of an early weightbearing protocol and its effects on patient-reported outcome information scores (PROMIS) has yet to be investigated. This study aimed to investigate the effects of an early weightbearing protocol for all operatively treated ankle fractures and its impact on clinical outcomes and complications.

In this study, fluorine-doped tin oxide, indium-tin oxide, and silver nanowire-graphene films are analyzed along with carbon paper, carbon nanotube paper, and stainless-steel mesh as current collectors for optical batteries.

Iliac artery dissection and rupture in a patient with classic Ehlers-Danlos syndrome due to null variant.

This is a case of a 46-year-old woman who presented with right common iliac artery dissection preceded by a left common iliac artery dissection and rupture 6 years earlier. Both iliac arteries required repair. Based on her presentation, she met the clinical diagnostic criteria for vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome; however, the genetic workup demonstrated that she had classic Ehlers-Danlos syndrome due to a null variant in , which is rarely associated with arteriopathy.

Advancements and progress in juvenile idiopathic arthritis: A Review of pathophysiology and treatment.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a chronic clinical condition characterized by arthritic features in children under the age of 16, with at least 6 weeks of active symptoms. The etiology of JIA remains unknown, and it is associated with prolonged synovial inflammation and structural joint damage influenced by environmental and genetic factors. This review aims to enhance the understanding of JIA by comprehensively analyzing relevant literature.

Visual axis opacification after pediatric cataract surgery - An analysis of morphology and etiology.

Purpose: To investigate the morphological types and delineate the clinical and surgical variables associated with VAO in children undergoing pediatric cataract surgery.

Methods: We included 33 eyes of 28 children who developed clinically significant visual axis opacification (VAO) after congenital or developmental cataract surgery. All eyes underwent a comprehensive examination under anesthesia followed by a membranectomy to clear the visual axis.

In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we explored the utilization of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) to detect fibrotic changes secondary to uremic cardiomyopathy during the early stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and in patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD). Uremic myocardial fibrosis can lead to arrhythmia and heart failure, and it is important to detect these changes. CMR offers a noninvasive way to characterize the severity of cardiac remodeling.
