Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the oral care knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of nursing staff in acute hospital settings, which is under-researched.
  • It utilizes a modified 55-item questionnaire to assess KAP levels among 404 nursing staff, revealing that only about 29.5% had good knowledge, 33.7% had a positive attitude, and 14.9% demonstrated good practice concerning oral care.
  • The findings highlight that higher knowledge and favorable attitudes correlate with better oral care practices, emphasizing the need for standardized training and tools to improve oral care delivery in hospitals.
