Article Synopsis
The study aimed to find an effective treatment for multi-drug resistant falciparum malaria using a combination of dihydroartemisinin and pyronaridine.
A clinical trial was conducted with 32 patients, comparing the effectiveness and side effects of the combination therapy against standard treatments.
Results showed that the combination therapy led to faster fever and asexual form clearance, with zero recrudescence cases, making it a promising option for treating resistant cases of malaria.
