Background: The decrease in S-nitrosoglutathione reductase (GSNOR) leads to an elevation of S-nitrosylation, thereby exacerbating the progression of cardiomyopathy in response to hemodynamic stress. However, the mechanisms under GSNOR decrease remain unclear. Here, we identify NEDD4 (neuronal precursor cell expressed developmentally downregulated 4) as a novel molecule that plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy, by modulating GSNOR levels, thereby demonstrating significant therapeutic potential.

Slow kinetics and instability seriously hinder the development of MnO cathodes for aqueous Zn-ion batteries. Herein, an emerging 2D material MoB-based MBene was used as the MnO matrix. Despite improvements in clinical outcomes of acute myocardial infarction (AMI), mortality rates remain high, indicating the need for further understanding of the pathogenesis and developing more effective cardiac protection strategies. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) carry proteins and noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) derived from different cardiac cell populations, mainly including cardiomyocytes, endothelial cells, endothelial progenitor cells, cardiac progenitor cells, cardiosphere-derived cells, immune cells, fibroblasts and cardiac telocytes have vital roles under both physiological and pathological process such as myocardial infarction (MI). The content of EVs can also indicate the status of their parental cells and serve as a biomarker for monitoring the risk of cardiac injury.

Background: Current mainstream cardiovascular magnetic resonance-feature tracking (CMR-FT) methods, including optical flow and pairwise registration, often suffer from the drift effect caused by accumulative tracking errors. Here, we developed a CMR-FT method based on deformable groupwise registration with a locally low-rank (LLR) dissimilarity metric to improve myocardial tracking and strain estimation accuracy.

Methods: The proposed method, Groupwise-LLR, performs feature tracking by iteratively updating the entire displacement field across all cardiac phases to minimize the sum of the patchwise signal ranks of the deformed movie.
