Background: The prognosis for patients with relapse of localized rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) remains poor, with limited evidence for optimal second-line therapy. This study describes the management and outcomes of relapsed RMS patients in France.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all nonmetastatic RMS patients enrolled in France in the RMS 2005 study who relapsed between 2006 and 2019 after achieving complete local control, defined as complete remission or stable residue ≥ 6 months after treatment completion.

The announcement of a cancer diagnosis is a crucial moment in the management of the disease, as it is the starting point for a relationship of trust between patient and caregiver. In 2005, this issue led to the creation of an announcement system as part of the 2003-2007 cancer plan, but its implementation in practice remains uncertain. Pediatric oncology has its own specificities, with a triangular relationship and the need for doctors to adapt to the child's age.

Purpose: The MAST® D72C test is a phenotypical test which can detect ESBL and AmpC production in Enterobacterales. It can also identify the suspected presence of carbapenemase. The aim of the present study was to assess the sensitivity and specificity of this test and to discuss its usefulness in laboratories, especially those that use only an automated AST system.

Background: Addition of anti-GD2 antibodies to temozolomide-based chemotherapy has demonstrated increased antitumor activity and progression-free survival in patients with relapsed/progressive high-risk neuroblastoma. However, chemo-immunotherapy is not yet approved for this indication. This study presents the chemo-immunotherapy experience in patients with relapsed/progressive high-risk neuroblastoma treated within the off-label use program of the Neuroblastoma Committee of the French Society of Pediatric Oncology (SFCE).

Introduction: Very rare pediatric tumors (VRTs), defined by an annual incidence ≤2 per million inhabitants, represent a heterogeneous group of cancers. Due to their extremely low incidence, knowledge on these tumors is scant. Since 2012, the French Very Rare Tumors Committee (FRACTURE) database has recorded clinical data about VRTs in France.

Background And Aims: Extracranial malignant rhabdoid tumours are tumours that mainly affect young children and have a poor prognosis. In 2014, the European Paediatric Soft-tissue sarcoma Study Group developed treatment recommendations consisting in intensive dose chemotherapy every 2 weeks using vincristine-doxorubicin-cyclophosphamide (VDCy) and ifosfamide-etoposide (IE) associated with early surgery and irradiation of tumour sites.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on children treated in France by these new recommendations up to January 2019.

In recent decades, follow-up of cancer survivors has taken on its full meaning with the gradual improvement in the survival of children and adolescents with cancer. This follow-up is associated specially for adolescents with a multitude of transitions: the transition from therapeutic management to the monitoring for possible relapse, the transition into long-term follow-up after childhood cancer, the transition from a pediatric system to an adult care system. If this transition can be perceived as difficult by patients, it gives young people the opportunity to access more autonomous follow-up and support in becoming an adult.

The experimental dataset presented was collected in an 18 m long and 1 m wide laboratory flume. Low to high flood flows through an urbanized floodplain were modelled. The floodplain bed is rough, modelled with dense artificial grass.

Background: Viral load (VL) determination is an essential parameter of the management of patients infected with HIV, HBV or HCV. Many available molecular systems run on a "batch" mode while "random access" systems provide more flexibility.

Objectives: We compared the performance of HIV-1, HCV and HBV quantification assays on the recently developed Abbott Alinity m system to the m2000 RealTime assays.

Background: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) in infants is a particular entity with various clinical presentations and outcomes. To better understand the clinical heterogeneity of RMS in infants, an integrative clinical, histological, and molecular analysis was performed.

Methods: From 1989 to 2015, 37 infants aged less than 6 months with a diagnosis of RMS and archival tumor materials were identified in France.

High-risk neuroblastoma is characterized by poor long-term survival, especially for very high-risk (VHR) patients (poor response of metastases after induction therapy). The benefits of a tandem high-dose therapy and hematologic stem cell reinfusion (HSCR) have been shown in these patients. Further dose escalation will be limited by toxicity.

Background: Survival of childhood, adolescent and young adult (CAYA) cancers has increased with progress in the management of the treatments and has reached more than 80% at 5 years. Nevertheless, these survivors are at great risk of second cancers and non-malignant co-morbidities in later life. DeNaCaPST is a non-interventional study whose aim is to organize a national screening for thyroid cancer and breast cancer in survivors of CAYA cancers.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess long-term pelvic floor symptoms after an obstetric anal sphincter injury (OASI).

Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 237 cases of OASI (0.86% of deliveries) identified at Poitiers University Hospital between 2000 and 2011.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotyping continues to be relevant for therapeutic strategies. Some samples are reported as genotype 1 (gt 1) without subtype by the Abbott RealTime HCV Genotype II (GT II) test. To characterize such samples further, the Abbott HCV Genotype Plus RUO (Plus) assay, which targets the core region for gt 1a, gt 1b, and gt 6 detection, was evaluated as a reflex test in reference to NS5B or 5'-untranslated region (UTR)/core region sequencing.

The fine analysis of cell components during the generation of pluripotent cells and their comparison to bone fide human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) are valuable tools to understand their biological behavior. In this report, human mesenchymal cells (hMSCs) generated from the human ES cell line H9, were reprogrammed back to induced pluripotent state using Oct-4, Sox2, Nanog, and Lin28 transgenes. Human induced pluripotent stem cells (hIPSCs) were analyzed using electron microscopy and compared with regard to the original hESCs and the hMSCs from which they were derived.

We report two cases of Ballantyne's syndrome which was first described in association with foeto-placental hydrops caused by rhesus isoimmunization. Our two cases occurred in association with materno-fetal parvovirus infection. Although the pathogenic mechanism remains to be fully elucidated, fluid retention and hyperplacentation are the main features.

A sensitive, selective and easy to use high-performance liquid chromatographic method for the determination of cicletanide, a new diuretic, in plasma, red blood cells, urine and saliva is described. After extraction of cicletanide together with an internal standard with diethyl ether, or diethyl ether-n-hexane (20:80) for urine, the sample extracts are chromatographed with water-methanol-acetic acid (50:50:0.3) as eluent on to a Nucleosil C18 column.
