Recent research in machine learning pointed to the core problem of state-of-the-art models which impedes their widespread adoption in different domains. The models' inability to differentiate between noise and subtle, yet significant variation in data leads to their vulnerability to adversarial perturbations that cause wrong predictions with high confidence. The study is aimed at identifying whether the algorithms inspired by biological evolution may achieve better results in cases where brittle robustness properties are highly sensitive to the slight noise.

Acute upper extremity flaccid paralysis in a 5year old child secondary to enterovirus infection.

The incidence of acute flaccid paralysis has been on a declining trend with the global efforts on eradication of polio virus. A few scattered clusters of acute flaccid paralysis associated with pathogens like enterovirus other than polio virus and flaviviruses have recently come to limelight. This is a case of acute onset flaccid paralysis of left upper extremity in a fully immunized 5 year old child in New York.

Anaplastic astrocytoma mimicking herpes simplex encephalitis in 13-year old girl.

Astrocytoma is the most common childhood brain tumor. Anaplastic astrocytoma (AA) are high grade gliomas (HGG), found very rarely in pediatric patients. AA mainly results from a dedifferentiation of a low grade astrocytoma.

[Results of surgical treatment of the anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary trunk].

The experience of the federal medical center of the surgical treatment of small patients with the anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary trunk was analyzed. The early surgical treatment, directed at the reconstruction of the two sources of myocardial blood supply together with the standard use of "calcium sensitizer" ("Levosimendan") decrease the lethality to 6.6% without the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

Paroxysmal neuropathic pain in an adolescent female with syringomyelia: a review of literature.

Paroxysmal neuropathic pain is an uncommon complaint among pediatric patients visiting the emergency department. It is a rare presentation in children with syringomyelia. Patients with syringomyelia may present with a variety of pain symptoms.

Subcutaneous sumatriptan relieved migraine-like headache in two adolescents with aseptic meningitis.

Sumatriptan was developed as an agent for the treatment of acute migraine. However, sumatriptan may alleviate not only migraine headache, but also headache of subarachnoid hemorrhage and meningitis. We report 2 patients whose migraine-like headache on presentation was relieved by subcutaneous sumatriptan.
