Snakebite is a neglected public health problem in tropical countries. Snakebite envenomation-associated acute kidney injury (SBE-AKI) is a major complication accounting for significant morbidity and mortality. The pathogenesis of SBE-AKI may be multifactorial, including prerenal AKI secondary to hemodynamic alterations, intrinsic renal injury, immune-related mechanisms, venom-induced consumptive coagulopathy and capillary leak syndrome.

C3 glomerulopathy (C3G) is an ultra-rare complement-mediated kidney disease caused by to the deregulation of the alternative pathway (AP) of proximal complement. Consequently, all effector loops of the complement are active and can lead to pathologies, such as C3a- and C5a-mediated inflammation, C3b opsonization, surface C3b-mediated AP C3 convertase assembly, C3 cleavage product deposition in the glomerulus, and lytic C5b-9/MAC cell damage. The most common pathologic mechanisms are defective chronic alternative pathway deregulation, mostly occurring in the plasma, often causing C3 consumption, and chronic complement-mediated glomerular damage.

While various modalities such as blood volume monitoring, inferior vena cava diameter assessment, natriuretic peptide levels, bioimpedance assay, and lung ultrasound have been widely explored in the context of maintenance hemodialysis, the concept of volume-guided ultrafiltration in dialysis patients with acute kidney injury remains unexplored.

Background And Aim: Primary glomerular disease accounts for one-sixth of all chronic kidney diseases (CKDs) in India. We remain limited in our ability to effectively treat these conditions because of lack of understanding of the disease mechanisms and lack of predictors to identify the clinical course and therapeutic responsiveness. We propose to develop a network of investigators in glomerular diseases, collect information in a systematic fashion to understand the clinical outcomes, answer translational research questions better, and identify and recruit patients for clinical trials.

Objectives: Membranous nephropathy (MN), also called membranous glomerulopathy, is one of the leading causes of nephrotic syndrome in adults which is defined by the presence of subepithelial immune complex deposits with a spectrum of changes in the glomerular basement membrane (GBM). It is known that C4d is a byproduct of the classic and lectin pathway. Background In renal transplant patients, the biopsy-proven incidence of polyomavirus nephropathy (PVN) is approximately 5%. Material And Method: All post mortem specimens with acute tubular necrosis, with the presence of bile casts in tubules or bile pigment deposition in the tubular epithelium during the period 2015-2018 were examined for gross and histopathology along with biochemical parameters and viral markers.
