Current study was carried out with an objective to remediate highly contaminated sludge with HMX and RDX obtained from an explosive manufacturing facility in North India employing indigenous microbes, Arthrobacter subterraneus (isolate no. S2-TSB-17) and Bacillus sonorensis (isolate no. S8-TSB-4) which were isolated from the same contaminated site.

The present study has been designed to optimise certain important process parameters for Scenedesmus vacuolatus to achieve efficient carbon dioxide extenuation as well as suitable fatty acid profile in context to improve biodiesel properties. The effect of varying sodium bicarbonate concentration was evaluated in single and multicomponent system such as nitrate, phosphate, inoculum size to observe interactive effects on algae biomass production, carbon dioxide (CO) removal efficiency and fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) profile. Maximum biomass productivity of 117.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the transformation of sugar mill sludge (PM) amended with biogas plant slurry (BPS) into vermicompost employing an epigeic earthworm Eisenia fetida. To achieve the objectives experiments were conducted for 13 weeks under controlled environmental conditions. In all the waste mixtures, a decrease in pH, TOC, TK and C:N ratio, but increase in TKN and TP was recorded.

This contribution reports the potential of vermicomposting technology in the management of horse dung (HD) spiked sugar mill filter cake (SMFC) using an epigeic earthworm Eisenia foetida under laboratory conditions. A total of six vermicomposters filled with different ratios of HD and SMFC were maintained for this study. The growth and fecundity of E.
