Care necessities: the view of the patient and nursing team.

Objectives:: To compare care necessities as perceived by the patient and nursing team and to investigate the sociodemographic factors associated with these perceptions.

Method:: A comparative study was conducted in units and hospitalized patients of a hospital institution in the state of São Paulo. The participants comprised 100 health professionals (50 nurses and 50 nursing technicians and auxiliaries) and 50 patients.
