Unlabelled: " Liberibacter asiaticus" (CLas) is associated with citrus huanglongbing, a severe disease with global importance that affects citrus production in Brazil. This study reports the first complete genome of a Brazilian strain of CLas. The genomic structure comparison of strain 9PA with those of 13 complete CLas genomes revealed 9,091 mismatches and 992 gaps/insertions, highlighting eight locally colinear blocks, among which six are in the prophage region.

The aim of this prospective cohort study was to assess the incidence, risk factors, characteristics, and impact of CDH in patients with COVID-19.
Methods: In the first stage, 288 patients were interviewed by telephone after the acute phase of COVID-19.
Objective: To assess the prevalence of excessive use of social media and associated factors, as well as possible health consequences in high school students in southern Brazil.
Methods: This is a population-based cross-sectional study, conducted with high school students in the city of Rio Grande, RS. All students who were attending high school at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul, campus Rio Grande, were eligible for this research in the second semester of 2019.

Over the past decades, advances in plant biotechnology have allowed the development of genetically modified maize varieties that have significantly impacted agricultural management and improved the grain yield worldwide. To date, genetically modified varieties represent 30% of the world's maize cultivated area and incorporate traits such as herbicide, insect and disease resistance, abiotic stress tolerance, high yield, and improved nutritional quality. Maize transformation, which is a prerequisite for genetically modified maize development, is no longer a major bottleneck.

The article explores the actions of king Dom João II (1481-1495), who spearheaded a major assistance reform in Portugal during the late fifteenth century, when charitable institutions were grappling with a serious crisis. The king and his queen, Dona Leonor, ordered two large, modern hospitals to be built, centralizing assistance work and cementing a new assistance model. Methods: Colostrum, transitional and mature milk were collected from 25 mothers with normal hemoglobin levels (control group) and 18 mothers with hemoglobin levels below 11 g/dL (anemia group). Total protein, antibodies, complement proteins, fat and calorie, lipase, iron, transferrin levels, total iron-binding capacity, latent iron-binding capacity (LIBC) and transferrin saturation index (TSI) were determined.
This study investigates the desired distribution of family labor between spouses who have jobs and children of 6 years or less. This is a quantitative study developed with the participation of 92 couples living in the city of Rio Grande, state of Rio Grande do Sul Brazil. The desired distribution of housework and children care is predominantly an equal one, though the woman was seen as more responsible for the care of children.

This article analyzes the history of primary health care policy in the Federal District, Brazil, based on the theoretical framework of historical neo-institutionalism, identifying the predominant configurations and trends in the various administrations of the State Health Secretariat (SES-DF) from 1960 to 2007. The study indicates that the characteristics of the Federal District's health policy are dependent on the history of the original health system plans for setting priorities and goals, as well as for the health system's implementation. This influence, in addition to the centralization of decision-making processes and limited political participation, can contribute to making primary care ancillary to hospital care, thus jeopardizing its potential to produce change in the health care model.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFKinetic adsorption isotherms were obtained by gravimetric determination of water adsorption into fully hydroxylated mesoporous silicas using samples exposed to controlled humidity air at 22+/-2 degrees C. Twenty kinetic isotherms at several relative humidities (11, 33, 43, 51, 75, and 85%) were obtained with 11 different batches of silica using this simple procedure to obtain quantitative information on the formation of H2O adsorbates. The H2O surface concentrations obtained from the plateau data of individual kinetic adsorption isotherms at 43 and 51% RH, typically precise to about +/-1%, show that a complete monolayer is formed with negligible second-layer adsorption at these relative humidities.
