The aim of this study is to review the potential of strontium-doped nanohydroxyapatite (SrnHAP) as a biomaterial for remineralizing early carious lesions. Publications from 2012 to 2022 were included based on the patient/population, intervention, comparison, and outcomes (PICO) framework, focusing on demineralized enamel treated with strontium-doped nanohydroxyapatite compared to other remineralizing agents, with the primary outcome being remineralization capacity. Electronic databases, namely, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar, were explored from March 31, 2023, to April 10, 2023.

Article Synopsis
  • * A total of 271 participants were treated with varying doses of vitamin D for three months, leading to a significant increase in vitamin D levels and improved glycaemic control as measured by HbA1c.
  • * Results show that lower pre-treatment vitamin D levels and higher HbA1c scores corresponded to greater improvements in glycaemic control after vitamin D treatment, suggesting the potential benefits of addressing vitamin D deficiency in T1DM patients.*
