Unlabelled: In bacteria, if a ribosome translates an mRNA lacking a stop codon it becomes stalled at the 3' end of the message. These ribosomes must be rescued by -translation or the alternative rescue factors (ArfA or ArfB). However, mounting evidence suggests that the ribosome quality control (RQC) pathway may also rescue non-stop ribosomes.

YebC2 resolves ribosome stalling at polyprolines independent of EF-P and the ABCF ATPase YfmR.

Polyproline motifs are essential structural features of many proteins, and recent evidence suggests that EF-P is one of several factors that facilitate their translation. For example, YfmR was recently identified as a protein that prevents ribosome stalling at proline-containing sequences in the absence of EF-P. Here, we show that the YebC-family protein YebC2 (formerly YeeI) functions as a translation factor in that resolves ribosome stalling at polyprolines.

Methods: The OHC methodology was designed to advance Indigenous self-determination and FNIM data sovereignty in urban contexts through deliberate application of Indigenous principles and linked implementation strategies.

Introduction: This research, conducted by a non-Aboriginal, White researcher, examines how health professionals working in remote Aboriginal communities engage with antiracism as instructed by national standards, whether strong emotions are elicited while reflecting on these concepts, and how these reactions impact on antiracist professional practice.

Methods: Eleven non-Indigenous allied health professionals were interviewed in a semi-structured format. Interviews were transcribed, thematically analysed and compared to existing literature.

Background: Few studies have investigated associations between adiposity and reproductive factors using causal methods, both of which have a number of consequences on women's health. Here we assess whether adiposity at different points in the lifecourse affects reproductive factors differently and independently, and the plausibility of the impact of reproductive factors on adiposity.

Methods: We used genetic data from UK Biobank (273,238 women) and other consortia (EGG, GIANT, ReproGen and SSGAC) for eight reproductive factors: age at menarche, age at menopause, age at first birth, age at last birth, number of births, being parous, age first had sexual intercourse and lifetime number of sexual partners, and two adiposity traits: childhood and adulthood body size.

Typically examined in older adults, recent work shows frailty occurs in middle-aged individuals and is associated with increased mortality.
