Introduction: We previously demonstrated efficacy of an 8-antigen recombinant subunit vaccine against a single species homologous challenge in lambs and in lambing ewes in pen trials. We subsequently demonstrated efficacy of a simplified, 2-antigen, version of this vaccine in lambs in pen trials. Here, we test both vaccines in lambing ewes in a field setting.

According to the World Health Organization, PC is patient-and family-centered care that optimizes quality of life by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering. It is holistic care that addresses the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTREM2 is a signaling receptor expressed on microglia that has emerged as an important drug target for Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. While a number of TREM2 ligands have been identified, little is known regarding the structural details of how they engage. To better understand this, we created a protein library of 28 different TREM2 variants that could be used to map interactions with various ligands using biolayer interferometry.

Background: Data recorded routinely in primary care can be used for estimating the impact of interventions provided within routine care for all people who are clinically eligible. Despite official promotion of 'efficient trial designs', anecdotally researchers in the Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research (AUKCAR) have encountered multiple barriers to accessing and using routine data.
Purpose: To evaluate Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) for failed endothelial keratoplasty (EK).
Methods: We reviewed 362 consecutive DMEK cases for failed EK (Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK) or DMEK), 118 for early EK failure, and 244 for late failure in 333 eyes of 323 patients without penetrating keratoplasty. Rejection and graft survival rates were assessed with Kaplan-Meier analysis.
Objective: Margin distance is a significant prognosticator in oral cavity cancer but its role in HPV-related oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma [HPV(+)OPSCC] remains unclear. Here, we investigate the impact of margin distance on locoregional recurrence in HPV(+)OPSCC.
Study Design: This is a retrospective cohort study of surgically treated HPV(+)OPSCC patients.
High-energy nuclear collisions create a quark-gluon plasma, whose initial condition and subsequent expansion vary from event to event, impacting the distribution of the eventwise average transverse momentum [P([p_{T}])]. Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

Commercial marine finfish sites in British Columbia, Canada, are required to report mortality events (MEs) to Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), which makes these data publicly available. This study aimed to analyze the spatial and temporal patterns of ME composition and total MEs.

There is accumulating evidence that iKIRs regulate T cell-mediated immunity. Recently, we reported that T cell-mediated control was enhanced by iKIRs in chronic viral infections.

We aimed to determine prevalence of PRISm in US primary care patients diagnosed with COPD, describe their demographic, clinical, and CT scan characteristics.
Methods: An observational registry study utilizing the US APEX COPD registry, composed of patients diagnosed with COPD aged 35+ years.

Objective: The extent of parotidectomy for benign tumors has de-escalated in the United States. We aim to define modern benchmarks for operative time and hospital length of stay (LOS) in parotidectomy and identify risk factors that may prolong these benchmarks.
Study Design: This is a retrospective cross-sectional study of all adults who underwent parotidectomy for a primary parotid neoplasm between January 2011 and December 2021 using the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective single-centre cross-sectional study evaluated delayed post-gadolinium ZPE and NSE real-IR MRI in consecutive patients with Ménièriform symptoms (8/2020-10/2023). Two observers assessed 14 MRI descriptors.
Background: Despite accounting for approximately 20% of new HIV diagnoses in the United States, cisgender women are consistently under-represented and under-engaged in HIV prevention services such as HIV testing and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Black and Latina cisgender woman (BLCW) are disproportionately impacted by HIV, and face additional barriers to accessing prevention services due to racial/ethnic bias, sexism, and their intersection. Offering self-testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV is one potential strategy for increasing access to-and engagement in-preventative sexual health care among BLCW.

It is not well understood when this gap in PA emerges. The purpose of the current study was to examine the longitudinal trajectories of device-assessed PA in a large cohort of children with and without DCD from age 4 to 8.

(2) To explore whether the Bolus Clearance Ratio (BCR) can be reliably applied in the anterior-posterior (AP) plane. (3) To investigate the relationship between perception of residue severity and BCR measures across view planes.
