This study introduced an innovative sequential extraction methodology designed for the efficient recovery of alpha-mangostin (⍺-M) from mangosteen pericarps. Alpha-mangostin, renowned for its pharmacological properties including anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-bacterial effects, has garnered significant attention across diverse industries. The proposed method of sequential extraction achieved 73% recovery and a yield of 46.

Exceeding a healthy weight significantly elevates the likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes (T2DM). A commercially available singular constituent, available as either purified vitexin or iso-vitexin, has been associated with a decreased risk of T2DM, but its synergistic effect has not been reported yet. Vitexin and iso-vitexin were extracted using an ethanol-based solvent from mung bean seed coat (MBCE) and subsequently purified using preparative liquid chromatography (Prep-LC).

Spent Coffee Grounds (SCG) is an agricultural residue obtained in a large quantity from local cafes in Thailand. In order to handle this waste effectively, the valorization of SCG is essential. SCG consists of beneficial phenolic compounds with antioxidative properties and caffeine, which can be recovered through extraction followed by separation and purification processes.

A continuous separation system such as a simulated moving-bed process requires adsorption data with precise equilibrium and kinetic model parameters of a single chromatographic column. The adsorption of glucose and fructose in a fixed-bed chromatographic column was investigated to determine the competition effect of each component resulting from their initial molar ratios. The model parameters including bed porosity and axial dispersion coefficient were determined using the moment analysis method.
