Background: Guideline-based care of patients requiring extracorporeal membranous oxygenation, a form of life support for patients with refractory respiratory and/or cardiac failure, requires a multidisciplinary approach, yet a detailed description of the ideal integration of teams of physicians, acute care nurse practitioners, critical care nurses, and other disciplines is lacking in the literature.
Objectives: We sought to define team-based care of the patient receiving venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation with an emphasis on the roles of the critical care nurse and the acute care nurse practitioner.
Methods: A narrative literature review was conducted using the keywords or MeSH terms "team-based care" AND "ECMO" and "nurse practitioner" AND "ECMO.
A newborn girl had typical "blueberry muffin" skin lesions, which shows histopathologic features of monocytic leukemia cutis. The systemic leukemia was demonstrated after one month of life. She was treated by chemotherapy, including induction and three consolidation cures, according to the ELAM02 protocol, which led to complete remission.

Methods: A 63-year-old woman presented with local pain and an apparent collection in the left arm 8 days after donation.
Importance: Disparities in survival exist between non-Hispanic Black (hereafter, Black) and non-Hispanic White (hereafter, White) patients with uterine cancer.
Objective: To investigate factors associated with racial disparities in survival between Black and White patients with uterine cancer.
Design, Setting, And Patients: This cohort study used data from the National Cancer Database on 274 838 Black and White patients who received a diagnosis of uterine cancer from January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2017, with follow-up through December 2020.
Several studies have linked bad prognoses of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) to the ability of leukemic cells to reprogram their metabolism and, in particular, their lipid metabolism. In this context, we performed "in-depth" characterization of fatty acids (FAs) and lipid species in leukemic cell lines and in plasma from AML patients. We firstly showed that leukemic cell lines harbored significant differences in their lipid profiles at steady state, and that under nutrient stress, they developed common mechanisms of protection that led to variation in the same lipid species; this highlights that the remodeling of lipid species is a major and shared mechanism of adaptation to stress in leukemic cells.

Background: Patients with isolated left ventricular failure may have positive outcomes after being implanted with a left ventricular assist device. Unfortunately, almost half of patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction also have evidence of right ventricular dysfunction. For a subset of this population with severe biventricular failure, or those who develop right ventricular dysfunction after left ventricular assist device implantation, patients may necessitate biventricular assist devices or the total artificial heart.

Background: Extensive infrainguinal arterial disease still pose a challenge for technical and clinical success of percutaneous angioplasty. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of concomitant femoropopliteal and infrapopliteal percutaneous angioplasty/stenting (PTA/S) with distal bypass graft surgery (BGS) in patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI).
Method: In a single-center retrospective investigation between 2011 and 2017, 668 revascularization procedures for CLTI were reviewed.
Introduction: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is characterized by a set of malignant proliferations leading to an accumulation of blasts in the bone marrow and blood. The prognosis is pejorative due to the molecular complexity and pathways implicated in leukemogenesis.
Objectives: Our research was focused on comparing the metabolic profiles of leukemic cells in basal culture and deprivation conditions to investigate their behaviors under metabolic stress.
Decompression sickness (DCS) is commonly associated with diving or occupational exposure to compressed air, and is a life-threatening condition if left untreated. This article provides an overview of the pathophysiology and types of DCS. It also explains the principles of care for people presenting to the emergency department with DCS that emergency nurses must be familiar with, including the recognition of its signs and symptoms and the initial management required.

VariZIG, not commercialized in France, is a good alternative for seronegative individuals exposed to the virus and not eligible for vaccination.
