Aims: Assessment of dental malocclusion and soft-tissue features among children with special needs and their correlation with normal children.
Subjects And Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out among 128 children (63 special health-care needs children and 65 normal children), between 8 and 18 years of age. Two special schools (Vatsalya and Jeevandhara) were included in the study for case group and two local schools (one government and one private) were included in the study for control group.
Objectives: The aim of the study was to quantify and compare craniofacial asymmetry in subjects with and without symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs).
Materials And Methods: A total of 126 adult subjects were categorized into two groups (63 with a TMDs and 63 without a TMDs), based on detection of symptoms using the Temporomandibular Joint Disorder-Diagnostic Index (TMD-DI) questionnaire. Posteroanterior cephalograms of each subject were traced manually and 17 linear and angular measurements were analyzed.
Background: Platelet concentrates (PCs) are a boon in the field of dentistry. Various generations of PCs have been tried and utilized in different treatment methods, such as intrabony defect therapy, root coverage procedures, oral surgical procedures, and palatal wound healing. Titanium-prepared platelet-rich fibrin (T-PRF) is a third-generation PC that is prepared in medical-grade titanium tubes and achieves good healing in the field of periodontics.

Methods: The study included 192 teeth from 17 individuals, of which 64 teeth underwent crown lengthening (Treated site- TS) and 128 of which shared a proximal surface (Adjacent site -AS, Non-Adjacent site- NAS) with the surgery site. The clinical parameters Plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI), gingival margin position (PGM), relative attachment level (RAL), bone sounding (BS), biological width (BW), and probing depth (PD) were recorded.
Background: Bacteria and their products involved in periodontitis evoke an immunoinflammatory response in the host tissue. Inflammatory diseases, such as periodontitis, are often not just a local event, but may have systemic ramifications, including elevations in the numbers of circulating leukocytes, acute-phase proteins and oxidative stress markers. It is now emerging that also erythrocytes are affected by chronic inflammatory diseases.

Patient Concerns: A 21-year-old male came with the chief complaint of protrusive lower front teeth and a large lower jaw. His main concern was aesthetics.
Introduction: Knowledge about the Shear Bond Strength (SBS) of ceramic brackets with different base design is essential as it affects bond strength to enamel.
Aim: The aim of the present study was to evaluate and compare the effect of base designs of different ceramic brackets on SBS, and to determine the fracture site after debonding.
Materials And Methods: Four groups of ceramic brackets and one group of metal brackets with different base designs were used.
Human body requires certain essential elements in small quantities and their absence or excess may result in severe malfunctioning of the body and even death in extreme cases because these essential trace elements directly influence the metabolic and physiologic processes of the organism. Rapid urbanization and economic development have resulted in drastic changes in diets with developing preference towards refined diet and nutritionally deprived junk food. Poor nutrition can lead to reduced immunity, augmented vulnerability to various oral and systemic diseases, impaired physical and mental growth, and reduced efficiency.

Aim: The current study was designed to determine prevalence of various tongue lesions and their association with age, gender, systemic illness, deleterious habits, and distribution over the surfaces of tongue. It also explored the awareness and knowledge of subjects in relation to presence of tongue lesions, etiological factor, symptoms, and treatment received if any.
Methods: The present study was conducted on 1360 randomly selected dental outpatients from 1/10/2013 to 30/09/2014.
Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (HE) is an intermediate malignant potential vascular neoplasm with uncertain clinical behavior, wide variations in microscopic findings, and prognosis. According to the World Health Organization (2002) classification, epithelioid HE has been considered under malignant tumors which rarely metastasize. The epithelioid variant, the most aggressive one, has similar gender predilection and sporadic occurrence in children.

The prognosis of traumatized tooth depends on accurate diagnosis and physiological status of the involved tooth. This paper discusses two different cases of subgingival fracture of maxillary anterior tooth that was managed by two different technique of forced eruption.

Materials And Methods: Twenty five Indian dry human adult mandibles constituted the study material. Ten measurements were carried on each of them to evaluate the location of mandibular foramen with respect to adjacent anatomic landmarks.
Introduction: Corticotomy is an effective method of accelerating the orthodontic treatment. The aim of this study was to compare the treatment time for the extraction space closure, between corticotomy assisted and conventional orthodontic tooth movement and to check the alveolar bone thickness before and after corticotomy procedure in the corticotomy group.
Settings And Design: Cross-sectional clinical study.
Objective: To compare the dimensions of the nasopharynx and oropharynx of subjects with different growth patterns and to determine whether any correlation exists with their craniocervical posture.
Materials And Methods: Cephalometric radiograph of 60 subjects (16-25 years old), taken in natural head position, were divided into three groups according to the mandibular plane angle: hypodivergent (SN/MP <26°), normodivergent (SN/MP 26°-38°), and hyperdivergent (SN/MP <38°). Correlations were calculated between nasopharyngeal area, oropharyngeal area, and craniocervical posture.
