Background: Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) increase the odds of alcohol use disorder (AUD).
Aim: To study the ACEs, coping, and resilience in persons with AUD and their non-drinking siblings from high-density families.
Methods: The study used a case-control study design.
Antimicrobial resistance is a major global threat. In an attempt to discover new compounds with improved efficiency and to overcome drug resistance, a library of 3960 compounds was designed as conformationally rigid analogues of oxiconazole with 2H-chroman-4-one, azole and substituted phenyl fragments. The antifungal and antibacterial activity of the compounds was evaluated using molecular docking studies in the active site of six fungal and four bacterial proteins to establish the binding affinity of the designed ligands.

The clinical outcomes of prisoners with mental illness have not been widely studied, especially in developing countries. This study was conducted to assess the same among male inpatients under judicial custody with charges of homicide.

Analysis of the optimized geometries of the complexes formed by physisorption of metal ions on biopolymers reveals that monomer of chitin is the best biopolymer for adsorption of Mg ion. Water as a solvent reduces the reactivity of complexes formed, playing a significant role in complex stability, which further proved the effective use of cellulose, chitosan and chitin for real-time applications.

A number of stable molecules with planar tetracoordinated and higher-coordinated centers have been designed and experimentally realized; however, there has not been a single example of a molecular system that can possibly undergo such racemization. Here we show examples of molecular species that undergo inversion of stereochemistry around tetrahedral centers (Si, Al- and P+) either via a planar transition state or an intermediate state using quantum mechanical, ab initio quasi-classical dynamics calculations, and Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics (BOMD) simulations.

We aimed to determine the clinical features that are most likely to be associated with abnormal CT scan in patients with a history of head injury, and who are conscious at the time of presentation to casualty.
Materials And Methods: This is a prospective observation study of patients presented to casualty with history of head injury, and who were conscious, i.
Purpose: Seizures are known to affect diverse areas of the Central Autonomic Network (CAN) resulting in varied autonomic symptoms. The objectives of the study were to characterize neuro-cardiac autonomic regulation in hot water epilepsy (HWE) with or without spontaneous seizure, and to analyze the effect of Carbamazepine (CBZ).
Methods: Seventy patients of HWE [42 drug-naïve 'HWE only' and 28 'HWE with spontaneous complex partial seizure (CPS),' on CBZ] and 40 spontaneous CPS on CBZ were recruited after informed consent.
Introduction: Children have non specific symptoms after mild head injury (MHI). It is difficult to define indication of CT scan among them. We aimed at identification of predictors of CT scan findings after MHI.

Cyclic dipeptide (CDP) chiral auxiliary-functionalized naphthalenediimides (NCDPs 1-6) have been prepared and their chiral self-assembly properties have been investigated. Detailed photophysical and circular dichroism (CD) studies have unveiled the crucial role of the solvent in the chiral aggregation of these NCDPs.

In this paper, we report a comprehensive study on the TADA reactions of 14-membered cyclic triene macrocycles to yield A.B.

The compositional and concentration dependence of luminescence of the (4)F(3/2)-->(4)I(J) (J=13/2, 11/2 and 9/2) transitions in four Nd(3+)-doped tellurite based glasses has been studied. The free-ion energy levels obtained for 60TeO(2)+39ZnO(2)+1.0Nd(2)O(3) (TZN10) glass have been analysed using the free-ion Hamiltonian model and compared with similar results obtained for Nd(3+):glass systems.
