We report a facile synthesis of MXene/bismuth ferrite (TiCT @ BiFeO) nanocomposites using hydrazine hydrate induced with the hydrothermal method. Preparation of the composite with hydrazine hydrate prevents the formation of BiFeO inside the matrix. The 25 wt % loading of BiFeO acts as spacers for the multilayer restacking of MXene flakes by retaining the (002) plane.

High magnitudes of permittivity with the permeability of the materials help to absorb electromagnetic waves more efficiently. Objectives: The main objective is to compare efficacy and safety of pregabalin and amitriptyline monotherapy with their low-dose combination in patients of neuropathic pain (NeuP).

Methodology: In this parallel-group, open-label interventional study at the Neurology Outpatient Department of Bankura Sammilani Medical College, a total of 147 patients were randomly allocated into three groups and were prescribed the following drugs - Group ( = 42) pregabalin 150 mg once daily, Group A ( = 34), amitriptyline 25 mg once daily, and Group Z ( = 37) = pregabalin (75 mg) + amitriptyline (10 mg) as combination once daily. They were followed up after 4, 8, and 12 weeks.

In this work we investigated the functional properties of a set of acceptor (Cu1+) and donor (Gd3+) codoped wurtzite ZnO ceramics Zn(1-x)(CuzGdy)xO for x = 0.01 synthesized by the pressure-less solid state sintering method. XRD and optical measurements established the substitution of dopant ions into zinc lattice sites directly.

We are presenting two cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome where it is preceded by hepatitis E virus (HEV) and Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) infection, respectively. Our first case is a forty-three-year-old nondiabetic, nonhypertensive female who was initially diagnosed with acute HEV induced viral hepatitis and subsequently developed acute onset ascending quadriparesis with lower motor neuron type of bilateral facial nerve palsies and respiratory failure. Second patient was a 14-year-old young male who presented with meningoencephalitis with acute onset symmetric flaccid paraparesis.

This work describes and evaluates a technique for determining the dielectric properties of carbon-black filled Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) rubber and presents results on the studies of the effect of frequency on the permittivity and microwave conductivity using resonant cavity perturbation method. The measurements are performed with the aid of a Network Analyzer in X-band. The simplicity of this method lies in the fact that the dielectric properties can be obtained directly from the analytical formula without taking recourse to calibration.

Handloom is one of the oldest cottage industries in India, particularly in West Bengal, where a considerable number of rural people are engaged in weaving. Purposes of the present investigation were to clarify the prevalence of repetitive strain injuries in upper extremities among the handloom weavers and to identify the risk factors leading to its development. Cumulative trauma disorder (CTD) is a term used to describe a class of soft tissue injuries that result due to a number of occupational activities. These disorders commonly occur among workers who are engaged in highly repetitive jobs involving continuous hand exertion, vibration and localized mechanical pressure. In the present investigation, an attempt was made to evaluate the prevalence of CTD among workers associated with strenuous hand intensive jobs in unorganized sectors in India and to highlight the unsafe working conditions to which these workers have been exposed for several years.
