The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated an abrupt shift to online medical education, disrupting learning across knowledge, skills, and social connections. Post-pandemic, medical schools must evaluate how these disruptions shaped student experiences to optimize the return to in-person learning. This cross-sectional qualitative study explored medical students' perceptions of their learning environment during the post-pandemic reintegration period in Oman.

Background: Cefdinir is an extended-spectrum, third-generation, oral cephalosporin widely used in pediatric population to treat common bacterial infections, including otitis media and streptococcal pharyngitis. It is considered a safe and well-tolerated alternative to penicillin and macrolides.

Case Report: This report describes a case series of 3 infants presenting to the emergency department for evaluation of "bloody diarrhea.

In this research, we studied the functional properties of CuCrO, which is the most promising p-type transparent conductive oxide (TCO). The thin films were fabricated using a spin coating technique. The diffraction patterns were obtained with the help of X-ray diffractions, and the optical properties of absorption characteristics were studied using UV-visible absorption.

Layer-by-layer (LbL) self-assembled polyelectrolyte multilayer (PEM) films are a simple yet elegant bottom-up technology to create films at the nano-microscale. This low-cost technology has been widely used as a universal functionalization technique on a broad spectrum of substrates. Biomolecules under investigation can be incubated onto films based on complementary charge interactions between the films and biomolecules.

Introduction: Severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections (COVID 19) is a progressive viral infection that has been investigated extensively. However, genetic features and molecular pathogenesis underlying remdesivir treatment for SARS-CoV-2 infection remain unclear. Here, we used bioinformatics to investigate the candidate genes associated in the molecular pathogenesis of remdesivir-treated SARS-CoV-2-infected patients.

Background: Obesity associated type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder ; however, the etiology of obesity associated type 2 diabetes mellitus remains largely unknown. There is an urgent need to further broaden the understanding of the molecular mechanism associated in obesity associated type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Methods: To screen the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) that might play essential roles in obesity associated type 2 diabetes mellitus, the publicly available expression profiling by high throughput sequencing data (GSE143319) was downloaded and screened for DEGs.

Background: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a serious threat to childhood life and has fairly complicated pathogenesis. Profound attempts have been made to enlighten the pathogenesis, but the molecular mechanisms of T1D are still not well known.

Methods: To identify the candidate genes in the progression of T1D, expression profiling by high throughput sequencing dataset GSE123658 was downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.

Introduction: Radiation therapy is considered the standard treatment for early glottic cancers; and recent trials have evaluated the role of hypofractionation with mixed results. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the impact of hypofractionation in early glottic cancers.

Methods: We performed a comprehensive search of the PubMed, Embase and Google scholar to look for studies which have evaluated the role of hypofractionation in early glottic cancers.

Background: Access to a trained, competent health care workforce remains a challenge globally, particularly in rural settings. To bridge this gap, the World Health Organization calls for innovations in electronic learning and task shifting. Yet, these approaches are underutilized due to cost, challenges associated with implementing technology, and a lack of suitably educated trainees.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess perceptions of the educational environment in Oman among medical undergraduate students and interns using the Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM) tool.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between October 2016 and April 2017 at the Oman Medical College (OMC), Sohar, Oman. A total of 737 medical undergraduate students and interns from the OMC and College of Medicine & Health Sciences of Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman, were invited to complete the DREEM questionnaire in the form of an online survey.

Introduction: Dental caries remains the most important dental health problem in developing countries. Application of varnish on tooth surfaces is shown to promote the uptake of firmly bound fluoride by enamel, which is considered important. Along with the incorporation of fluoride into the crystalline lattice, there is formation of calcium fluoride compounds on enamel.

Stridor presenting soon after birth due to bilateral abductor vocal cord paralysis (VCP) is rare. We report a family with bilateral VCP affecting four male members in two generations and hence suggesting X-linked recessive inheritance. Severe stridor in the neonatal period requires meticulous airway evaluation, and tracheostomy in 35-70% cases.

Recently, there has been an upsurge in the use of naturally available fuels for solution combustion synthesis (SCS) of nanoparticles. Although many reports suggest that these biofuels pose less harm to the environment, their strategic advantages and reliability for making NPs has not been discussed. In the present work, we try to address this issue using plant extracts as biofuels for the SCS of zinc oxide nanoparticles as a model system.
