Introduction: Ever since its introduction in 1977, a minimum of few months of period is required for osseointegration to take place after dental implant surgery. With the passage of time and advancements in the fields of dental implant, this healing period is getting smaller and smaller. Immediate loading of dental implants is becoming a very popular procedure in the recent time.

Assessment of Patients Referred to Specialty Dental Hospitals for Dental Implant Procedure: A Retrospective Cohort Analysis.

Introduction: One of the most common and effective ways of replacing missing teeth is by dental implants. Both quality and quantity of bone along with the area of implant placement govern the prognosis of the implant procedure. Certain risk factors predispose the implant treatment to high failure rate.

Comparative Study of Blood Loss, Quality of Surgical Field and Duration of Surgery in Maxillofacial Cases with and without Hypotensive Anesthesia.

Background: Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are concern about the intraoperative bleeding because blood supply to face is very generous. Increased blood loss may lead to the need for transfusion of blood and blood products and hence patients are exposed to the risks associated with it. Hence, this study was undertaken to compare whether there is any significant difference in blood loss, surgical field and duration of surgery in patients undergoing maxillofacial surgeries with and without hypotensive anesthesia.

Oral submucous fibrosis and its dermatological relation.

Oral submucous fibrosis is a chronic insidious disease and is well-recognized as a premalignant condition. It is a collagen related disorder associated with betel quid chewing and characterized by progressive hyalinization of the submucosa. The oral submucous fibrosis needs to be differentiated from scleroderma showing oral manifestations, as these diseases have different pathogenesis and prognostic aspects.

Oral submucous fibrosis: Comparing clinical grading with duration and frequency of habit among areca nut and its products chewers.

Aims And Objectives: To evaluate the effect of frequency, duration and type of areca nut products on the incidence and severity of oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF).

Materials And Methods: Patients with the limited mouth opening and associated blanched oral mucosa with palpable fibrous bands were included in this study. Biopsies were done and the informed consent was taken from each patient included in this study.

Peripheral neurectomies: A treatment option for trigeminal neuralgia in rural practice.

Background: Trigeminal neuralgia is a commonly diagnosed neurosensory disease of head, neck and face region, involving 5(th) cranial nerve. Carbamazepine is the first line drug if there is decrease in efficacy or tolerability of medication, surgery needs to be considered. Factors such as pain relief, recurrence rates, morbidity and mortality rates should be taken in to account while considering which technique to use.

Two atypical case reports of foreign bodies in the maxillary sinus and nasal septum.

We present cases with foreign bodies in maxillary sinus and nasal septum which was due to peculiar habit of the patient of inserting sticks in between teeth. There was oroantrualfistula and nasal abcess observed. The ectopic foreign bodies were removed surgically.

Substance use and other psychiatric disorders in first-degree relatives of opioid-dependent males: a case-controlled study from India.

Unlabelled: To assess the prevalence of substance use and other psychiatric disorders in first-degree relatives of males with opioid dependence compared to normal controls.

Design: Observational, case-control study using family history method.

Setting: A drug addiction treatment centre in northern India.
