The Ras GTPase-activating protein SH3-domain-binding protein 1 (G3BP1) serves as a formidable barrier to viral replication by generating stress granules (SGs) in response to viral infections. Interestingly, viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, have evolved defensive mechanisms to hijack SG proteins like G3BP1 for the dissipation of SGs that lead to the evasion of the host's immune responses. Previous research has demonstrated that the interaction between the NTF2-like domain of G3BP1 (G3BP1) and the intrinsically disordered N-terminal domain (NTD-N) of the N-protein plays a crucial role in regulating viral replication and pathogenicity.

Here, we discuss the case of a woman in her 50s, who presented to a tertiary care hospital with recurrent episodes of sudden-onset weakness in all four limbs, recurrent vomiting and epigastric pain. She had non-anion gap metabolic acidosis with hypokalaemia and was diagnosed with pSS with hypokalaemic periodic paralysis.

Objective: To compare social and clinical predictors of differences in quality of life (QoL) with long COVID.
Coinfection of Pseudomonas and Aspergillus has not been previously reported in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A middle-aged, thinly built woman (Body Mass Index: 18.1 kg/m²) who smokes bidi (a type of tobacco) and has a history of exposure to open log fires for cooking, has been suffering from COPD for the last 4 years.

Case Summary: This case report describes a young man admitted for suspected tropical fever infections who experienced rapid deterioration in health. Despite negative results for tropical fever infections, he had neutrophilic leucocytosis, acute kidney injury, and chest imaging findings suggestive of bilateral consolidations.
Dengue, a prevalent arboviral disease, has witnessed a resurgence in India, with outbreaks frequently reported. However, dengue-associated oral (oro-pharyngeal) candidiasis (DAOC) was never reported. We present two severe dengue cases with oral/oro-pharyngeal pseudomembranous candidiasis.

A muscle biopsy usually helps in making the confirmatory diagnosis. A female in her 50s presented with non-healing multiple deep necrotic ulcers with muscle weakness.

Non-adherence to these guidelines can produce research that may not meet the standards set by the scientific community. Therefore, it must be ensured that researchers are well-versed in the GCP.

India has particularly high rates of AMR, posing a threat to effective treatment. The World Health Organization (WHO) Access, Watch, Reserve (AWaRe) classification system was introduced to address this issue and guide appropriate antibiotic prescribing.

SARS-CoV-2 infection leading to elevated cytokine levels and suppressed immune responses set off cytokine storm, fatal systemic inflammation, tissue damage, and multi-organ failure. Thus, drug molecules targeting the SARS-CoV-2 virus-specific proteins or capable of suppressing the host inflammatory responses to viral infection would provide an effective antiviral therapy against emerging variants of concern.

This study attempts to identify factors that can predict unfavorable outcomes in moderate to severe COVID-19 patients.
Methods: Hospital records of 120 COVID-19 patients admitted to the ICU were retrospectively analyzed and data pertaining to demographic, clinical, and laboratory parameters were obtained.
Introduction The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is continuously evolving, and many mutant variants of the virus are circulating in the world. Recurrent waves of COVID-19 have caused enormous mortality all across the globe. Considering the novelty of the virus, it becomes crucial for healthcare experts and policymakers to understand the demographic and clinical attributes of inpatient deaths in the first and second waves of COVID-19.

The objective of this study was to develop an understanding of predictors of mortality to guide in prioritizing patient care and preventive approaches. Methods This current research is a single-center unmatched case-control study conducted at a tertiary care center in northern India, between April and September 2022.

Background: The old definitions of fever are based on cross-sectional surveys of the population without analyzing the associated symptomatology as fever is a sign, not symptom. Therefore, a longitudinal follow-up study is the need of hour to analyze associated symptoms with fever.
Methods: In a longitudinal study over one year, 196 participants recorded three temperature readings daily, one after waking up, one between 12 and 3 PM, one before sleeping, and filled the symptomatology questionnaire in a thermometry diary.
Introduction: Present study was planned to identify various sociodemographic factors influencing nutritional status in elderly and impact of nutritional status on activities of daily living in them.
Methods: Total of 177 patients were enrolled in a prospective observational study. Nutritional status was assessed at the time of discharge by using Mini Nutritional Assessment form (MNA).
