Arbuscular mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) are essential in agriculture and are often inter-linked with glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP) production which supports binding of aggregates, enhanced SOC and biological attributes. However, conservation agricultural practices in agroecosystem may have significant impact on AMF diversity, GRSP and soil quality-related parameters (SQRPs). This current experiment was implemented to gauge AMF conization percentage (AMF-CP), GSRP and significant changes on critical SQRPs, and to investigate the linkages between AMF-CP, GRSP and SQRPs as influenced by synergistic tillage and weed management in CA.

Characterizing probiotic features of organisms isolated from diverse environments can lead to the discovery of novel strains with promising functional features and health attributes. The present study attempts to characterize a novel probiotic strain isolated from the gut of the tribal population of Odisha, India. Based on 16S rRNA-based phylogeny, the strain was identified as a species of the Lactiplantibacillus genus and was named Lactiplantibacillus plantarum strain ILSF15.

Needs arising at both current and future accelerator facilities call for the development of radiation-hardened position-sensing diagnostics that can operate with multi-GHz repetition rates. Such instruments are likely to also have applications in the diagnosis of rapid plasma behavior. Building on the recent work of our Advanced Accelerator Diagnostics Collaboration, we are exploring the development of integrated multi-GHz ionizing particle detection systems based on chemical-vapor deposition diamond sensors, with the initial goal of producing a quadrant detector that can determine the intensity and centroid position of a particle beam at a repetition rate between 5 and 10 GHz.

The use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) has become the mainstay of treatment in patients suffering from chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), an adult leukemia caused by a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22, which creates an oncogene resulting in a myeloproliferative neoplasm. Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma (FLC) is a rare liver cancer caused by a dominant recurrent fusion of the heat shock protein (DNAJB1) and the catalytic subunit of protein kinase A (PRKACA). Current therapies such as chemotherapy and radiation have limited efficacy, and new treatment options are needed urgently. Guanidinium isophthalate single crystals with dimensions 16 × 4 x 2 mm were prepared by the low temperature solvent evaporation method and growth kinetics with interfacial tension was discussed to bring out the growth parameters of guanidinium isophthalate single crystals. The harvested single crystals were utilized for various characterization studies like powder X-ray diffraction, optical transmission, photoluminescence, laser damage study and optical limiting studies. Frataxin deficiency in Friedreich's ataxia results from transcriptional downregulation of the FXN gene caused by expansion of the intronic trinucleotide guanine-adenine-adenine (GAA) repeats. We used multiple transcriptomic approaches to determine the molecular mechanism of transcription inhibition caused by long GAAs. We uncovered that transcription of FXN in patient cells is prematurely terminated upstream of the expanded repeats leading to the formation of a novel, truncated and stable RNA.

We evaluated the potential of AGTR1, the principal receptor for angiotensin II (Ang II) and a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family, for targeted delivery of antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) in cells and tissues with abundant AGTR1 expression. Ang II peptide ASO conjugates maintained robust AGTR1 signaling and receptor internalization when ASO was placed at the N-terminus of the peptide, but not at C-terminus. Conjugation of Ang II peptide improved ASO potency up to 12- to 17-fold in AGTR1-expressing cells.
