Rising cases of drug resistance of mycobacterium species are one of the biggest concerns when the goal is to eradicate TB (Tuberculosis) from the world by the year 2030. A limited number of treatment options as MTB (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) is getting resistant to anti-mycobacterial drugs either due to a patient's non-compliance towards treatment regimen or if a patient is infected by drug-resistant species of MTB. This review aims to assess the effectiveness of pretomanid, a recently approved drug for the treatment of extensively drug-resistant TB.
