Background: The goal was to measure the piriform sinus, epiglottis, and thyroid cartilage in our sample population.
Methods: This study included 22 adult embalmed cadavers available in the Department of Anatomy. Dimensions were measured using a digital Vernier caliper.
Background: The goal was to determine the thickness and width of the knee joint meniscus at their different regions. The objective was to compare the dimensions at these regions and over the right- and left-sided specimens.
Methods: The present study included 50 adult cadaveric knee joints, and 100 menisci (50 medial menisci and 50 lateral menisci) were studied.
Virgin coconut oil (VCO) is a processed edible oil, which is removed from the mature coconuts. It is a colourless water insoluble liquid and obtained by the hot and cold extraction processes. The nutritional components of VCO are mainly contributed to by lauric acid, its primary content.

Methods: This study utilized 200 adult human cadaveric dried lumbar vertebrae. The digital Vernier calipers was used to perform the measurements.
Market drugs, such as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or European Medicines Agency (EMA)-approved drugs for specific indications provide opportunities for repurposing for newer therapeutics. This potentially saves resources invested in clinical trials that verify drug safety and tolerance in humans prior to alternative indication approval. Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) overexpression has been linked to promoting the tumor phenotype in several cancers, including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), colorectal cancer (CRC), and breast cancer (BC), making PRMT5 an important target for cancer therapy.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOcular neovascular diseases including neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nvAMD) are widespread causes of blindness. Patients' non-responsiveness to currently used biologics that target vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) poses an unmet need for novel therapies. Here, we identify protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) as a novel therapeutic target for nvAMD.

The FTIR analysis showed the presence of residual CA in all the CA-containing samples where no trace of AA was observed. The tensile strengths of the CA-containing samples were lower than the AA samples.

These surgeries require anatomical knowledge about the extent of PA formation. The goal of this study was to determine the length and width of the PA formation.

Material And Methods: The present study included 70 formalin-fixed upper limbs of adult human cadavers. The origin of the anterior interosseous nerve was categorized into 3 types.
Benign and malignant bone tumors arise in small bones of the hands and feet. Nevertheless, secondary deposits at these sites are extremely rare. We report a peculiar case of an adult man who presented with thumb swelling, which was later discovered to be a metastasis from renal cell carcinoma.

Importantly, our previous work demonstrated that PRMT5 overexpression could substantially augment activation of the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) via methylation of arginine 30 (R30) on its p65 subunit, while knockdown of PRMT5 showed the opposite effect. However, the precise mechanisms governing this PRMT5/NF-κB axis are still largely unknown.

They catalyze arginine methylation, either monomethylation or symmetric/asymmetric dimethylation of histone and non-histone proteins. PRMT methylation of its substrate proteins modulates cellular processes such as signal transduction, transcription, and mRNA splicing.

Hyperactive nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) is a common culprit in both cancers. Previously, we discovered that protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) methylated and activated NF-κB.

To develop novel therapeutics to target YBX1, it is of great importance to understand how YBX1 is finely regulated in cancer.

In experiment 1 the highest detectable ripple density was measured using four amounts of spectral smearing (unsmeared, mild, moderate, and severe). The thresholds worsened with increasing smearing and were similar for the SRt and the STRt across the three conditions with smearing.
