This study investigates Hg, Cd, Cu, Zn, and Pb concentrations in 324 fish samples from 43 species, including two cephalopod species, in the Andaman Sea. The fish were categorized into pelagic and demersal groups. The findings revealed average heavy metal concentrations in the order: Zn > Cu > Hg > Pb > Cd, with pelagic fish showing higher levels than demersal fish.

Cyanine-based cationic dyes with different substituents in the donor unit were easily synthesized using readily available starting materials. The prepared dye molecules were spectroscopically characterized by NMR, FT-IR, and HR-Mass, and their thermal stability was measured by TGA, DSC, and XRD. Based on the TGA and DSC measurements, it was concluded that all the dyes are thermally stable up to 200 °C.

The results revealed that the mean concentrations of the heavy metals, in descending order, were Zn > Cu > Fe > Cd > Hg > Mn > Pb > Ni. Among the examined metals, zinc was found to be the most prevalent in fish tissues.

Successfully designed and synthesized diaryl maleimide DAM, and their structure was confirmed by mass spectroscopy and NMR techniques. They investigated their photophysical properties, such as solvatochromic and the aggregation effect of AIE/ACQ on the water/DMF ratio, and other studies of solid-state mechanofluorochromic, such as grinding, exposure to solvent fumes, hydrostatic pressures, and vapochromic. Interestingly, the solvent methods gave very similar results in both the dissolving phase and the vapor phase.

We designed the TPA-based linear pyrazine derivatives of PP-1 and PP-2, synthesized using the conventional Suzuki cross-linking reaction. It was followed by photophysical studies such as aprotic solvent (Haxene to DMF). A red-shift was observed from the non-polar aprotic solvent to the polar aprotic solvent, and the emission intensity was gradually decreased.

These synthesized dye molecules were identified using spectroscopy. And the photophysical studies, such as solvent optimization, were further explored before and after photodegradation of all synthesized dye compounds in both states (solution and solid).

In this paper, we prepared a new class of chemically linked UV absorber XU2 & XU3, and their photophysical, chemical properties and substrate durability were investigated. Spectroscopic behavior at various solvent and pH levels for this dye solution has been evaluated. Successfully designed an open ring form of xanthene moiety, linked a UV absorber to it, and made XU2 & XU3 that have shown good absorbance and emission band maxima at all solvents and pH mediums.

The guide used for this usually involves multiple teeth to gain stability but is bulky. It is therefore suboptimal to be used along with rubber dam.

In this study, carbon modification of octahedral-shaped magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) was done using two-step chemical processes with sucrose as a carbon source for improvement in their electrochemical application and higher molecular biocompatibility. X-ray diffraction analysis and electron microscopy confirmed the alteration in single-phase octahedral morphology and carbon attachment in FeO structure.

As the mobility, bioavailability, and toxicity of the trace metals in the sediments are largely controlled by their particulate speciation, the modified BCR sequential extraction protocol was applied to determine the particulate speciation of trace metals in the coastal sediments of Miri, to unravel the seasonal geochemical processes responsible for known observations, and to identify possible sources of these trace metals. The granulometric analysis results showed that littoral currents aided by the monsoonal winds have influenced the grain size distribution of the sediments, enabling us to divide the study area into north-east and south-west segments where the geochemical composition are distinct.

By appropriate structural modification of the SBT π-linkers with different alkyl chains and conjugated thiophene units, chromophore aggregation and interfacial charge recombination could be suppressed to a remarkable degree. Single-crystal and optical/electrochemical data clearly show that the SBT core is nearly planar with the torsional angle <1°, likely via S(alkyl)···S(thiophene) intramolecular locks.

New Schiff base chemosensors (1 and 2) based on aryl ether amine were synthesized and demonstrated positional isomer and functional group dependent colori/fluorimetric sensing of Fe(3+), Cu(2+) and Zn(2+) at ppm level. Methoxy salicylaldehyde based chemosensor 1 exhibited selective colorimetric sensing of Fe(3+) whereas 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde based chemosensor 2 showed selective disappearance of yellow color for Cu(2+) ions. Interestingly, both 1 and 2 exhibited a highly selective strong turn-on fluorescence for Zn(2+).
