Efficiency and diagnostic adequacy of immunoglobulin isolation from rabbit immune serum by reiterated salting out with ammonium sulfate and subsequent separation of DEAE sephadex A-50 was evaluated. Electrophoresis and immunoelectrophoresis in agar gel demonstrated that the resultant immunoglobulin fraction is much more pure than after one salting out. It contains nothing more than antibodies to influenza virus taken for immunization, and after binding to the stain shows high fluorescent activity and induces but a moderate background nonspecific fluorescence in the subsequent preparations.

New monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) to adenovirus hexon, highly active in ELISA and immunofluorescent analysis, were prepared. According to competitive ELISA, new MAbs differed in their blocking activity and were directed to 2 different hexon epitopes. MAb 3H8 did not modify antigen binding of the rest MAbs labeled with peroxidase (PAb x Pox), and none of unlabeled MAbs suppressed the reaction of MAb x Pox 3H8.

Different methods for the preparation of antibodies to rabbit FITC-labeled MM creatine kinase are compared. Highly specific fluorescent antibodies have been employed to detect MM creatine kinase in isolated cells and in tissue culture. Prospects for research and clinical diagnostic application of the direct method for the detection of creatine kinase in biological samples are discussed.

A new method for express diagnosis of influenza is described. The method is based on agglutination of antibody-sensitized erythrocytes in the presence of virus contained in nasal washings. Fourteen outbreaks in institutions and 113 patients in appartment foci were examined.
