Although recent evidence suggests that myeloid clonal hematopoiesis (M-CH) may influence lymphoma clinical outcome, its impact in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) remains unclear. Here, we report a comprehensive NGS-based analysis of the M-CH mutational landscape at baseline and follow-up in patients enrolled in the Fondazione Italiana Linfomi (FIL) MCL0208 phase 3 trial (NCT02354313), evaluating lenalidomide maintenance versus observation after chemoimmunotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) in untreated young MCL patients. Overall, 254/300 (85%) enrolled patients (median age 57 years [32-66]) had a baseline sample available for CH analysis.

Here we investigated by flow cytometry the long-term modulation of the CLL CXCR4/CD5 proliferative fraction (PF), its correlation with therapeutic outcome and emergence of ibrutinib resistance. By longitudinal tracking, the PF, initially suppressed by ibrutinib, reappeared upon early disease progression, without association with lymphocyte count or serum beta-2-microglobulin.

Introduction: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a major complication in patients with diabetes and the main contributor to the chronic kidney disease (CKD) global burden. Oxidative stress is a crucial factor in DKD pathogenesis but the role of the antioxidant nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and its molecular regulators has been poorly investigated in man.
Research Design And Methods: In this case-control study, we analyzed the roles of Nrf2, a transcription factor shielding cells from oxidative stress, its repressor Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1) and six microRNAs (miRNAs) that potentially suppress Nrf2.
The aim of this study is to evaluate changes in epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) and cardiac extracellular volume (ECV) in patients with follicular lymphoma (FL) treated with R-CHOP-like regimens or R-bendamustine. We included 80 patients with FL between the ages of 60 and 80 and, using computed tomography (CT) performed at onset and at the end of treatment, we assessed changes in EAT by measuring tissue density at the level of the cardiac apex, anterior interventricular sulcus and posterior interventricular sulcus of the heart. EAT is known to be associated with metabolic syndrome, increased calcium in the coronary arteries and therefore increased risk of coronary artery disease.

A web-based survey was conducted over a 3-month period, from October, 2018 to January, 2019. All participants answered directly through the online platform.

Using (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), in patients treated with R-CHOP-like or R-Bendamustine regimens, we assessed changes in the bone mineral density (BMD), musculoskeletal index (SMI), visceral adipose tissue (VAT), and subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) at disease onset and at the end of therapy. We evaluated whether the high-steroid regimen could lead to more significant radiological changes than those induced by the steroid-free regimen and whether a low BMD at disease onset is an unfavorable prognostic index.

In a previous study conducted over a 6-year long period (2007-2012), we found that patients with declared -lactam allergy had a higher risk of ESBL bacterial carriage at admission in intensive care unit (ICU), but they had not a higher risk of ESBL bacterial acquisition. We present the final results of the study which was eventually conducted over a 12-year long period (2007-2018).

T-cell lymphomas and leukemias are highly heterogeneous groups of rare disorders. We report a case of a 68-year-old man patient who developed two different T-cell neoplasms (Large Granular Lymphocyte Leukemia [LGLL] in 2018 and Peripheral T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma not otherwise specified [PTCL-NOS] in 2019) with a previous diagnosis of B-cell marginal zone lymphoma in 2010, treated with two lines of chemo-immunotherapy. The coexistence of these different T-cell neoplasms is rarely reported in the literature.

Age and comorbidities, assessed by the cumulative illness rating scale (CIRS), have been used to address chemotherapy intensity. In the ibrutinib era, it is still unclear whether age, CIRS, and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG-PS) retain their predictive role on treatment vulnerability.

Vascular manifestations of SSc include Raynaud's phenomenon, digital ulcers, and pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). PAH is the second most common cause of mortality in SSc.

Aim of the current study was to focus on the effectiveness of a strategy based on TMP-SMX as de-escalation from β-lactam including regimens.
Methods: Retrospective cohort study including patients who were hospitalized for VAP from 2011 to 2019.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the global community interest about renal diseases through relative search volumes (RSVs) of Google Trends (GT).
Materials And Methods: The online interest for the search terms hematuria (H), proteinuria (P), chronic kidney disease (CKD) and dialysis (D) was measured by evaluating RSVs from 2010 to 2019. All countries listed in GT were analysed and those presenting RSVs related to all search terms were considered following geographical position.

Background: Cohort studies are among the most robust of observational studies but have issues with external validity. This study assesses threats to external validity (generalizability) in the European QUALity (EQUAL) study, a cohort study of people >65 years of age with Stage 4/5 chronic kidney disease.
Methods: Patients meeting the EQUAL inclusion criteria were identified in The Health Improvement Network database and stratified into those attending renal units, a secondary care cohort (SCC) and a not primary care cohort (PCC).
Background And Objectives: End stage renal disease (ESRD) patients are exposed to the risk of ionizing radiation during repeated imaging studies. The variability in diagnostic imaging policies and the accompanying radiation doses across various renal units is still unknown. We studied this variability at the centre level and quantified the associated radiation doses at the patient level.

Aim Of The Study: our retrospective study aimed to assess the widespread use of telemedicine in terms of feasibility and safety related to adverse events, a crucial experience which will make it possible to predict any effective use of such a method in patients with hematological disorders even after the end of the Covid-19 emergency.
Materials And Methods: At the Day Hospital clinic, from 8 March to 31 May 2020, an outpatient group received 3828 medical teleconsultations and 11,484 additional contacts following the first examination; each patient examined through the telematic method required an average of three supplementary contacts via e-mail or telephone.

Introduction: Treatment of (Hi) pneumonia is on concern because resistance to amoxicillin is largely diffused. This study describes the evolution of resistance to amoxicillin and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (AMC) in Hi isolates and characteristics of patients with Hi severe pneumonia.
Methods: A monocentric retrospective observational study including patients from 2008 to 2017 with severe pneumonia hospitalized in ICU.
