Thrips tabaci is the main thrips species affecting onion and related species. It is a cryptic species complex comprising three phylogenetic groups characterized by different reproductive modes (thelytoky or arrhenotoky) and host plant specialization. Thrips tabaci populations vary widely in genetic diversity, raising questions about the factor(s) that drive this diversity.

Practical clinical and radiological models to diagnose COVID-19 based on a multicentric teleradiological emergency chest CT cohort.

Our aim was to develop practical models built with simple clinical and radiological features to help diagnosing Coronavirus disease 2019 [COVID-19] in a real-life emergency cohort. To do so, 513 consecutive adult patients suspected of having COVID-19 from 15 emergency departments from 2020-03-13 to 2020-04-14 were included as long as chest CT-scans and real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) results were available (244 [47.6%] with a positive RT-PCR).

The accuracy of teleradiologists in diagnosing COVID-19 based on a French multicentric emergency cohort.

Objectives: To evaluate the accuracy of diagnoses of COVID-19 based on chest CT as well as inter-observer agreement between teleradiologists during on-call duty and senior radiologists in suspected COVID-19 patients.

Materials And Methods: From March 13, 2020, to April 14, 2020, consecutive suspected COVID-19 adult patients who underwent both an RT-PCR test and chest CT from 15 hospitals were included in this prospective study. Chest CTs were immediately interpreted by the on-call teleradiologist and were systematically blind reviewed by a senior radiologist.

This study analysed the effects of nourishment with relict sand on the subtidal macrobenthic communities and on the surface sediment at 7 sites of the Marche Region (Central Adriatic Sea, Italy).

Sacroiliac joints imaging in axial spondyloarthritis.

Imaging of the sacroiliac joints is the key point in diagnosing and classifying spondyloarthritis. Since the integration of MRI criteria to the Assessment of Spondyloarhtitis Society (ASAS) classification in 2009, the attention was focused on the presence of bone marrow edema to characterize sacroiliitis. However, returning to basics and analysing structural signs is of utmost importance to avoid overdiagnosis of spondyloarthritis.

Markers of inflammation, thrombosis and endothelial activation correlate with carotid IMT regression in stable coronary disease after atorvastatin treatment.

Background And Aims: MIAMI is a prospective multicenter clinical study designed to investigate the relationship between changes in carotid intima-media thickness (C-IMT) and changes in circulating markers of inflammation, thrombosis and endothelial activation in stable coronary patients treated for 20+/-3.7 months with 20mg/day atorvastatin.

Methods And Results: Eighty-five subjects had their C-IMT, blood lipids and soluble markers measured at baseline, at the 12th month and at the end of the study.

Objective: MIAMI was a prospective multicenter clinical study designed to investigate the relationship between changes in carotid intima-media thickness (C-IMT) and those in the levels of circulating markers of inflammation, thrombosis and endothelial dysfunction. The study was performed in a group of stable coronary patients treated for two years with a moderate dosage of atorvastatin (20mg/day). In this paper the cross-sectional relationship between C-IMT and the same circulating markers of inflammation, thrombosis and endothelial dysfunction measured at baseline was investigated.

[Bioequivalence and therapeutic exchange of pharmaceutical specialties: application to cyclosporin in renal transplantation].

The aim of this study was to perform a quantitative meta-analysis of the average bioequivalence criteria between Sandimmun and Sandimmun Neoral in kidney transplant patients, and to review the new bioequivalence criteria and their application to generic formulation of cyclosporin. In Medline, we searched for clinical trials evaluating the bioequivalence between Sandimmun and Sandimmun Neoral in kidney transplant patients and we collected the information regarding the bioequivalence, study design, sample size, and time post-transplant. The effect was measured by the Wolf method; publication bias was evaluated by the Galbraith method and the Rosenthal formula was used to calculate the number of additional studies with no statistical differences needed to get a statistically non-significant overall estimation.

Refresher courses for the 21st century.

One hundred eighty-one (n = 181) nurses who completed the Rutgers Nurse Refresher course between the years of 1991 and 1994 were surveyed to determine the outcome of the course in relation to successor return to nursing practice. Of the number of nurses who responded (n = 111), 78 nurses (70.2%) returned to practice as RNs.
