Muscle-invasive bladder cancer is a deadly disease for which a number of new approaches have become available to improve prognosis. A recent review emphasized the importance of timely indication of surgery and highlighted current views regarding the adequate extent of the surgery and the importance of lymph node dissection. Furthermore, treatment using neoadjuvant and adjuvant systemic chemotherapy has become more prominent, while cystectomy and diversion should be conducted only in experienced centers.

Objective: To develop and validate internally the first IBX-specific PCA3-based nomogram that allows an individual assessment of a man's risk of harboring any PCa and high-grade PCa (HGPCa).
Design, Setting, And Participants: Clinical and biopsy data including urinary PCA3 score of 692 referred IBX men at risk of PCa were collected within two prospective multi-institutional studies.
Objectives: To examine pre-operative imaging parameters that predict the residual amount of healthy renal parenchyma after nephron sparing surgery (NSS) for renal tumours, as this can help stratify patients towards the optimal surgical choice.
Methods: Ninety-eight patients with the diagnosis of a solitary unilateral renal tumour and with pre- and post-operative imaging were included in this retrospective study. Imaging, patient and surgical parameters were acquired and their correlation to the percentage decrease of healthy renal parenchyma following surgery was statistically examined to find the most significant predictor of nephron sparing.

Objective: To present a precise overview of the lymphatic drainage pattern and to correlate those findings with dissemination patterns.
Context: Radical retropubic prostatectomy (RRP) has long been the most common surgical technique used to treat clinically localized prostate cancer (PCa). More recently, robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) has been gaining increasing acceptance among patients and urologists, and it has become the dominant technique in the United States despite a paucity of prospective studies or randomized trials supporting its superiority over RRP.
Objective: A 2-d consensus conference of 17 world leaders in prostate cancer and radical prostatectomy was organized in Pasadena, California, and at the City of Hope Cancer Center, Duarte, California, under the auspices of the European Association of Urology Robotic Urology Section to systematically review the currently available data on RARP, to critically assess current surgical techniques, and to generate best practice recommendations to guide clinicians and related medical personnel.
Context: Perioperative complications are a major surgical outcome for radical prostatectomy (RP).
Objective: Evaluate complication rates following robot-assisted RP (RARP), risk factors for complications after RARP, and surgical techniques to improve complication rates after RARP. Case Report: We present the case of a 53-year-old male patient with tumor metastases which developed after radical nephrectomy. We describe the immunohistochemistry profile of the tumor and the successful long-term results of treatment with sunitinib, a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor.
Background: Previous randomised trials demonstrated that adjuvant radiation therapy (aRT) improves cancer control in patients with pT3 prostate cancer (PCa). However, there is currently no evidence supporting early salvage radiation therapy (eSRT) as equivalent to aRT in improving freedom from biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy (RP).
Objective: To evaluate BCR-free survival for aRT versus observation followed by eSRT in cases of relapse in patients undergoing RP for pT3pN0, R0-R1 PCa.

Methods: Review of 36 consecutive patients who underwent PE between June 1999 and April 2010.
Results: Pelvic exenteration was performed for cancer of the cervix (n = 18), endometrium (n = 9), vagina/vulva (n = 8), and ovary (n = 1).
Purpose: Patients with high risk prostate cancer with pT3 tumor and positive surgical margins have a high risk of biochemical failure after radical prostatectomy and adjuvant androgen deprivation therapy. Predictors of cancer related death in this patient group are necessary.

This review examines the development and efficacy of novel treatment options for advanced prostate cancer and discusses novel therapies that are on the horizon. Since the introduction of docetaxel as the standard treatment for patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), a number of different agents have been tested but failed to demonstrate improvement in overall survival (OS). Context: Prostate cancer (PCa) recurrence following definitive radiation therapy (RT) remains a vexing challenge for the practicing physician. Salvage radical prostatectomy (SRP) has not been recognized yet as a valuable therapeutic option.
Objective: We critically analyzed the currently available evidence on SRP as to patient selection, predictive oncologic factors, surgical technique, cancer control, surgical complications, functional outcomes, and comparison to other salvage therapies.
