Nanoparticles could improve the bioavailability of active agents of various natures to human, animal, and plant tissues. In this work, we compared two methods on the synthesis of calcium phosphate nanoparticles (CaPs), differed by the synthesis temperature, pH, and concentration of the stabilizing agent, and explored the possibilities of incorporation of a low-molecular-weight peptide analogue enalaprilat, the enzyme superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), as well as DNA and dsRNA into these particles, by coprecipitation and sorption. CaPs obtained with and without cooling demonstrated the highest inclusion efficiency for enalaprilat upon coprecipitation: 250 ± 10 μg/mg of CaPs and 340 ± 30 μg/mg of CaPs, respectively.

Methods: We conducted an observational substudy of patients who had POAF, were at elevated cardiovascular risk, and were enrolled in the PeriOperative Ischemic Evaluation (POISE)-1, 2 and 3 trials between 2002 and 2021.
The first search for soft unclustered energy patterns (SUEPs) is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, collected in 2016-2018 by the CMS detector at the LHC. Such SUEPs are predicted by hidden valley models with a new, confining force with a large 't Hooft coupling. In events with boosted topologies, selected by high-threshold hadronic triggers, the multiplicity and sphericity of clustered tracks are used to reject the background from standard model quantum chromodynamics.

Objective: To study the possibility of using methods (DP-3, speech therapy examination, neuropsychological study) to assess expressive speech development disorders in children aged 3 to 6 years inclusive.
Material And Methods: The study included 60 children with expressive speech disorder aged 3 to 6 years. At the initial stage, linguistic validation of the questionnaire was carried out according to generally accepted recommendations.
This study introduces a novel approach for quantitatively assessing sea-surface paleotemperatures examined in the Upper Paleozoic of Siberia, utilizing the obtained in the region data as a case study of the use of this method. The method relies on evaluating the taxonomic composition and ecological proxies of biota. It utilizes a comprehensive dataset encompassing the geographic distribution and ecology of various biotic groups in Siberia and adjacent regions, leveraging the newly developed by the authors large PaleoSib database and partially the Paleobiology Database (paleobiology.

VKM-F4104D (L-1) is a saprotrophic fungus isolated from buried soils of Phanagoria (Russia). This strain is known as a producer of the fibrinolytic peptidase-activating plasma protein C. We have sequenced and assembled its genome for a more detailed understanding of the fungus' physiology and encoded peptidases.

Background: Hip fractures carry a substantial risk of complications and death. This study aimed to report the 90-day incidence of mortality, major perioperative complications and in-hospital timelines after a hip fracture in the Spanish HIP ATTACK-1 trial cohort, comparing with the non-Spanish cohort.
Methods: Prospective cohort study of Spanish patients nested in the HIP ATTACK-1 trial.
Energy correlators that describe energy-weighted distances between two or three particles in a hadronic jet are measured using an event sample of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collisions collected by the CMS experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.3 fb^{-1}. The measured distributions are consistent with the trends in the simulation that reveal two key features of the strong interaction: confinement and asymptotic freedom.

However, current imaging techniques of the cells within collagen scaffolds have several limitations, which lead to an urgent need for novel methods of visualization. In this work, we have obtained groups of collagen scaffolds and selected the contrasting agents in order to study pores and patterns of cell growth in a non-disruptive manner via X-ray computed microtomography (micro-CT).

Main Methods: Mitochondrial morphology, Drp1 protein phosphorylation, mitochondrial electron transport chain components content, mtROS and mitochondrial lipid peroxidation levels, and mitochondrial polarization were evaluated on days 1 and 2 of human MB135 myoblasts differentiation. A mitochondria-targeted antioxidant SkQ1 was used to elucidate the effect of mtROS on mitochondria.
The production of ϒ(2S) and ϒ(3S) mesons in lead-lead (Pb-Pb) and proton-proton (pp) collisions is studied in their dimuon decay channel using the CMS detector at the LHC. The ϒ(3S) meson is observed for the first time in Pb-Pb collisions, with a significance above 5 standard deviations. The ratios of yields measured in Pb-Pb and pp collisions are reported for both the ϒ(2S) and ϒ(3S) mesons, as functions of transverse momentum and Pb-Pb collision centrality.

Patients with a hip fracture and myocardial injury may benefit from accelerated surgery to remove the physiological stress associated with the hip fracture. This study aimed to determine if accelerated surgery is superior to standard care in terms of the 90-day risk of death in patients with a hip fracture who presented with an elevated cardiac biomarker/enzyme measurement at hospital arrival.
