Insects are poikilothermic organisms and temperature increase usually accelerates their development rates, population and distribution area growth. Therefore, it is assumed that global warming can be beneficial for the pests and other widespread species at least in the relatively cool temperate zones. However, climate change's effect on the widespread species in the Palearctic remains poorly studied.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) language models continue to expand in both access and capability. As these models have evolved, the number of academic journals in medicine and healthcare which have explored policies regarding AI-generated text has increased. The implementation of such policies requires accurate AI detection tools.

The previously published ligand [ F]FTC-146 is among the most promising tools for σ-1 molecular imaging by positron emission tomography (PET), with a potential for application in clinical diagnostics and research. However, the published six- or four-step synthesis of the tosyl ester precursor for its radiosynthesis is complicated and time-consuming.

Its most challenging problems are long duration of external fixation and related pin-tract infection and joint contractures. The solution might be the use of a bioactive degradable intramedullary implant stimulating bone healing.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIntroduction: The most commonly accepted method of long bone deformity correction in children with osteogenesis imperfecta is surgical realignment with transphyseal telescopic intramedullary rodding. This approach ensures reinforcement of the bone throughout the growth period. Although longitudinal growth does occur with these implants there has been very little work carried out to calculate the effect of such factors as rod position or implant material on growth.

Implanted into a medullary canal titanium graft with cellular structure demonstrated stimulation of the reparative osteogenesis and successful osseointegration of the graft into a single bone-implant block. The purpose of this study was to investigate osseointegration of a 3D-printed degradable polymeric implant with cellular structure as preclinical testing of a new technique for bone defect restoration.

This study demonstrates results of simultaneous application of external fixator, and telescopic rod for femoral lengthening and deformity correction in three children with osteogenesis imperfecta or severe form of Ollier's disease.
Materials And Methods: Three patients (two boys with Ollier's disease and a girl with osteogenesis imperfecta, type I) were operated on for femoral lengthening with combined technique associating Ilizarov frame and titanium telescopic intramedullary rodding.
We studied the features of hydrolytic degradation of polylactic acid (PLLA) implants depending on their structural filling with hydroxyapatite (HA). The resistance to in vitro hydrolysis was tested for the following samples: PLLA without HA (control; group 1), PLLA/HA 25 wt% (group 2), and PLLA/HA 50 wt% (group 3). Samples were incubated at 37°C.

Human adenovirus persistence in mucosal lymphocytes has been described, but specific cellular reservoirs of persistence and effects of persistence on host responses to unrelated stimuli are not completely understood. We used mouse adenovirus type 1 (MAV-1) to characterize persistence of an adenovirus in its natural host and test the hypothesis that persistence increases complications of BMT.

Hypothesis: Hydroxyapatite (HA)-coated FIN enables reduced External Fixation Index in limb lengthening for acquired leg length discrepancies in comparison to non-HA-coated FIN.
Material And Methods: This study included 54 patients (mean age, 17.
Composite poly-L-lactide acid-based scaffolds with hydroxyapatite (HAp) content up to 75 wt.% were fabricated via solution blow spinning. The influence of HAp concentration on structure, wettability, mechanical properties and chemical and phase composition of the produced materials was examined.

The role of HA-coated intramedullary nails remains unclear in normal bone lengthening. The goal of this study was to quantify the influence of FIN on the External Fixation Index (EFI) in patients with congenital lower limb discrepancy.

Purpose: The purpose of this experimental study was to evaluate the osteointegration of a bioactive 3D-cylindrical titanium-alloy implant (bone-graft substitute) for tibial shaft defect reconstruction.
Methods: An experimental study was done in 7 mongrel dogs. Tibial shaft defect was repaired using an original titanium-alloy (Ti6Al4V) cellular cylindrical implant.

This study aims to investigate the comparative study of calcium phosphate coatings for flexible intramedullary nails (FINs) used to lengthen long tubular bones. The presence of a calcium phosphate coating deposited by micro-arc oxidation (MAO) or a composite coating based on a co-polymer of vinylidene fluoride with tetrafluoroethylene (VDF-TeFE) and hydroxyapatite (HA) on the surface of the FIN significantly enhanced the regeneration of bone in the area of osteotomy during limb lengthening by combined osteosynthesis. The investigation of the physico-chemical properties of the FIN coated with calcium phosphate via MAO demonstrated that the improved bone tissue formation resulted from favourable conditions for adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of multipotent stem cells into osteoblasts on the coating surface.
