Single Stage Deltopectoral Flap for Reconstruction of the Soft Tissue Defects of Neck.

Unlabelled: Conventional deltopectoral flap is a two-staged procedure that needs a prolonged hospital stay, adding to treatment cost as well as patient discomfort and may delay adjuvant treatment. A modified deltopectoral flap, as a single-stage procedure, can overcome these shortcomings. This is a retrospective chart review of prospectively collected clinical data from a tertiary care hospital.

Correlation Between Nasal Allergy and the Number of Eosinophils in Adenoid Tissue.

To study adenoid tissue eosinophilia in allergic rhinitis. A single-centre clinical case-control prospective study with 66 subjects enrolled for the study after taking written informed consent from all the participants. All patients underwent adenoidectomy with histopathological evaluation of adenoid tissue samples for eosinophils.

This case series is about four different foreign bodies lodged in different locations of the aerodigestive tract. All four cases had delayed diagnosis due to inconspicuous history. Radiology in the form of computed tomography aided the appropriate diagnosis in most of these cases.

An interesting case of relapsing polychondritis in a young girl.

Relapsing polychondritis is an acute, recurrent and progressive inflammation and degeneration of cartilage and connective tissue including that within the tracheobronchial tree affecting men and women equally and usually in the middle age. Serious airway manifestations occur in at least half of these patients. We present to you an interesting case report of a 20-year-old female who presented with exertional breathlessness.

Perioperative only versus extended antimicrobial usage in tympanomastoid surgery: a randomized trial.

Objectives/hypothesis: Antimicrobial prophylaxis is still a matter of debate in ear surgeries. Previous studies have focused on prophylaxis in middle ear surgery alone without inclusion of mastoidectomy. We therefore investigated efficacy of two regimes of antimicrobial prophylaxis in tympanoplasty with cortical mastoidectomy done for mild middle ear disease in chronic otitis media.
