The retinal pigmented epithelial (RPE) cells maintain retinal homeostasis, and alterations in their function contribute to non-exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD) . Here, we explore the intricate relationship between RPE cells, epigenetic modifications, and the development of AMD. Importantly, the study reveals a substantial decrease in histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) activity and elevated histone acetylation in the RPE of human AMD donor eyes.

Neutrophils in Ocular Diseases.

Neutrophils, traditionally viewed as first responders to infection or tissue damage, exhibit dynamic and diverse roles in ocular health and disease. This review elaborates on previous findings that showed how neutrophils contribute to ocular diseases. In ocular infections, neutrophils play a pivotal role in host defense by orchestrating inflammatory responses to combat pathogens.

Age-related changes in gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) splice variants in mouse brain.

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is the primary regulator of the mammalian reproductive axis. We investigated the spatiotemporal expression of GnRH splice variants (V1, V2, and V3) and splicing factors (Srsf7, Srsf9, and Tra-2) in the male mice brain. Further, using in silico tools, we predicted protein structure and the reason for the low translational efficiency of V2 and V3.

Ruptured aneurysm of right sinus of valsalva in pregnancy-a case report.

A 26 year old multigravida at 36.6 weeks of gestation with ruptured aneurysm of right sinus of Valsalva was presented for caesarean section. Diagnosis was confirmed by transthoracic echocardiography.
