[Informational support of the scabies control system in Moscow].

The paper describes the basic elements of informational provision of the scabies control system in Moscow which are presented as 3 components (sections): statistic, dynamic, and prognostic. Comparing the statistic and dynamic components of informational flows allows one to predict (a prognostic component) the evolution of the scabies epidemiological situation and the most promising trends in the improvement of the scabies control system in Moscow.

[The status of the morbidity and the main trends in the improvement of the epidemiological surveillance of sexually transmitted infections in the city of Moscow].

The present situation in sexually transmitted diseases (STD) is regarded as unfavorable. Differing tendencies in morbidity levels for various nosological forms have been established. The continuing growth of syphilis morbidity among children is considered to be specially alarming, and an increase in the number of cases of congenital syphilis is noted.

[Effective scabies control system in Moscow].

The analysis using the systems approach, analogue simulation, practical conclusions of the probability theory, mathematical statistical methods, programme-oriented work organization revealed and eliminated a number of neglects that had put bounds to scabies morbidity reduction among Moscovites. In 1998, the number of the foci that dermatovenereological facilities were unaware of substantially showed a 6.9-fold decrease.

[Structural changes in the kidneys during experimental infection caused by Yersinia pseudotuberculosis].

A pronounced affinity of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis to the epithelium of renal tubules has been first stated. Microorganisms disseminate through blood into the renal tissue and enter the winding tubule lumen as part of glomerular filtrate. Due to invasion and intensive multiplication of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis within epitheliocytes the epithelium is damaged and necrotic nephrosis develops.
