This allows for the preservation of liver resections for various liver tumors and for living donor liver transplantation (LDLT). However, in some cases, LR is insufficient and interventions that can improve LR are urgently needed.

Introduction: Human cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes have a wide range of endogenous substrates and play a crucial role in cardiovascular physiology as well as in metabolic processes, so the issue of cytochrome P450 genes investigation has received considerable critical attention in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).
Aim: Comprehensive assessment of relationship between CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3 polymorphisms and CVD risk factors in gas industry workers undergoing periodic medical examination (PME).
Materials And Methods: The study included 193 gas industry workers aged 30-55 years without acute diseases as well as exacerbations of chronic diseases, diabetes mellitus, and CVD history.
Gray whales (Eschrichtius robustus) constitute an important part of the diet of Chukotka Native population, reaching 30% of consumed food for the inland Chukchas. Over one hundred licenses for whale hunting are issued on an annual basis. After the USSR collapse natives had to hunt whales near the shore from the small boats.

According to Russian and international clinical guidelines on the treatment of AH patients, various antihypertensive drugs may be combined; however, not all combinations have similar profiles of safety and clinical efficacy. In this respect, special attention is given to combinations of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors and thiazide (hydrochlorothiazide) or thiazide-like (chlortalidone, indapamide) diuretics.

A best possible medication discharge plan (BPMDP) is a revised list of medications a patient will take when discharged from hospital; a pharmacist review ensures accuracy. For many hospitals, on-site pharmacists are non-existent.

This report provides valuable data on pharmacy distribution, clinical, and management services in relation to hospital size, type, and geographic region. Pharmacy and hospital leadership use these extensive data in identifying baseline, benchmarking current, and planning enhanced pharmacy services.

Improved discrimination of NIFTPs from invasive EFVPTCs using a molecular biomarker test could provide useful insights into pre- and post-surgical management of the indeterminate thyroid nodule. Galectin-3 (Gal-3), a β-galactosyl-binding molecule in the lectin group, is involved in different biological functions in well differentiated thyroid carcinomas.

Today, no direct method exists for corneal hydration assessment, while it could be instrumental in early diagnosis and control of a variety of eye diseases. The use of terahertz (THz) radiation, which is highly sensitive to water content, appears to be very promising.

The objective of the research was to determine odontological (odontometric and odontoscopic) and morpho-aesthetic variations of the upper central and lateral incisors in 14-year-old children residing in Udmurt Republic. 200 adolescent respondents (100 boys and 100 girls) were included in the study. We accessed morphological aspects of the permanent upper right and left central incisors (URCI and ULCI) in 14-year-old children born and permanently residing in conditionally ecologically favorable districts of the Udmurt Republic.

Nevertheless, the sources of those compounds in the environment have not yet been established and definitely require elucidation, supported by reliable experimental results. In the present work the chemical composition of peat combustion products as one of the important sources of atmospheric aerosol emission is studied by two-dimensional gas chromatography - high-resolution mass spectrometry with a focus on the detection of pyridine derivatives.

One of the challenges of covalent protease inhibitors has been achieving selectivity over closely related targets. In this paper we describe the use of structural insight to design and develop a selective and highly potent reversibly covalent KLK5 inhibitor from an initial weakly binding fragment.

The inhibition of kallikrein 5 (KLK5) has been identified as a potential strategy for treatment of the genetic skin disorder Netherton syndrome, in which loss-of-function mutations in the SPINK5 gene lead to down-regulation of the endogenous inhibitor LEKTI-1 and profound skin-barrier defects with severe allergic manifestations. To aid in the development of a medicine for this target, an X-ray crystallographic system was developed to facilitate fragment-guided chemistry and knowledge-based drug-discovery approaches. Here, the development of a surrogate crystallographic system in place of KLK5, which proved to be challenging to crystallize, is described.

To treat sufferers of this severe condition we wished to develop a topical KLK5 inhibitor in order to normalise epidermal shedding and reduce the associated inflammation and itching. In this paper we describe structure-based optimisation of a series of brightly coloured weak KLK5 inhibitors into colourless, non-irritant molecules with good KLK5 activity and selectivity over a range of serine proteases.

On the one hand, clonally expanded γδ T cells with unique specificities typify adaptive immunity. Conversely, large compartments of γδTCR intraepithelial lymphocytes (γδ IELs) exhibit limited TCR diversity and effect rapid, innate-like tissue surveillance.

The GC-MS data have been extensively improved by enhancing the separation capacity via comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC × GC). The reliability of the identification of the analytes in GC × GC-MS can be notably improved by applying the second-dimension retention index (I) as additional analytical parameter along with the commonly used first dimension retention index (I) and mass spectrum.

Using GCxGC-HRMS technique we were able to detect and identify over 100 semi-volatile compounds in 3 cloud samples collected at the PUY station (puy de Dôme mountain, France) while they were present at low concentrations in a very small sample volume (<25 mL of cloud water). The vast majority (∼90%) of the detected compounds was oxygenated, while the absence of halogenated organic compounds should be specially mentioned.
