Telehealth continues to play an important role in specialty diabetes care, but there are variations in how this care is delivered. This article reports on clinician and clinic staff perspectives on providing specialty telehealth diabetes care at four large academic medical centers in California and provides several key recommendations for optimizing telehealth-delivered diabetes care.

Purpose: This study determined whether initiation of pharmacologic treatment was delayed for newly diagnosed osteoporosis patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: 1,189 patients ≥50 years with newly diagnosed osteoporosis using dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) screening at a single academic institution were included. Patients with previous osteoporosis were excluded.

Unlabelled: Osteoporosis care in men is suboptimal due to low rates of testing and treatment. Applying biomechanical computed tomography (BCT) analysis to existing CT scans, we found a high proportion of men with osteoporosis have never been diagnosed or treated. BCT may improve identification of patients at high risk of fracture.
