Currently, only fragmented age ranges of reference percentile curves are available for European children and adolescents. This study aimed to provide age- and sex-specific percentiles for physical activity measured by hip-worn accelerometry derived throughout the full age range of European children and adolescents.

Here, we offer guidelines for neurological care (neurological monitoring and management) of adults during and after ECMO support.

Methods: These guidelines are based on clinical practice consensus recommendations and scientific statements.

Management of neonates exposed prenatally to opioids: Impact of a developmental care program implementation.

Background: Traditional approaches to management of neonates prenatally exposed to opioids are based on the use of pharmacotherapy (PT), adjusted to evolution of infant symptoms. Newer approaches focused on non-pharmacological care (NPC) are emerging, but there is little evidence on the active policies to implement to ensure their widespread practice. The primary objective of the study was to assess whether the implementation of a developmental care program in our neonatal medicine department had an impact on the management of these infants during hospitalization, notably exposure to NPC.

The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of ARMOs carriage in children with CHD from LMIC and its impact on post-operative outcomes.

Total face mask with neurally adjusted ventilatory assist as a rescue therapy in infants with severe bronchiolitis.

Severe bronchiolitis patients are often supported with non-invasive ventilation (NIV). In case of NIV failure, we recently started to use non-invasive neurally adjusted ventilatory assist ventilation (NIV-NAVA) with a total face mask interface (TFM) and report now our experience with this modality of respiratory support. Retrospective study was made from October 2022 to May 2023 at the Geneva University Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Administering Nitric Oxide (NO) with High Flow Nasal Cannulas: A Simple Method.

Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) is a pulmonary vasodilator that plays an important clinical ICU role. The administration of iNO is usually performed through an endotracheal tube, but spontaneously breathing patients might also benefit from iNO administration. The use of the non-invasive administration of iNO through high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) allows for NO delivery in spontaneously breathing patients who still need supplemental oxygen and positive airway pressure.

To study the long-term outcomes of standard ILM peeling and fovea sparing with inverted flap (FSIF) peeling for symptomatic myopic foveoschisis (MF). This retrospective observational study included 36 eyes of 34 consecutive patients who underwent vitrectomy with standard ILM peeling and FSIF peeling for MF between April 2012 and march 2020. The primary outcome measures included best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central foveal thickness (CFT) at 1 month and final visit and postoperative development of macular hole.

Background: Patients' anxiety on intensive care unit (ICU) admission is associated with subsequent deterioration.

Objective: To assess whether patients' fears/anxiety are predictive of new organ failure within 7 days of ICU admission.

Methods: In a prospective 3-center cohort study of non-comatose patients without delirium or invasive mechanical ventilation, 9 specific fears were evaluated through yes/no questions.

Early Respiratory Physiotherapy versus an Individualized Postural Care Program for Reducing Mechanical Ventilation in Preterm Infants: A Randomised Controlled Trial.

Increasing evidence has been pointing towards the existence of a bi-directional interplay between mental health condition and immunity. Data collected during the COVID-19 outbreak suggest that depressive symptoms may impact the production of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, while a previous infection could affect the immune response and cause neuropsychological disturbances. A prospective observational study was designed to investigate the association between mental health conditions and immune response over time.
