Glutamate is an essential amino acid in both the energy and biosynthetic processes in plant cells. The aim of this work was to study changes in glutamate metabolism upon irradiation of maize ( L.) leaves with light of different spectral compositions, as well as to identify mechanisms regulating the work of enzymes involved in the studied process.

GDH activity increased continuously under salt stress, being 3-fold higher after 24 h.
