Through socio-hygienic monitoring of the Northern administrative district of Moscow in 2006-2010 the study of nutritional status and morbidity rates for alimentary-associated diseases of the digestive tract, the endocrine system, cardiovascular diseases and obesity - was conducted in children (5-11 years old), adolescents (12-16 years old) and adult population. Over the last 5 years negative dynamics in morbidity rates for the illnesses related to malnutrition and nutritional status disturbances was shown in children and adolescents. Thus it was noted a considerable increase of alimentary-associated diseases among children (2,3 times more) and adolescents (2,1 times more).

Patients with myocardial infarction in the presence of first angina pectoris have been found to display less platelet aggregability in the acute period of the disease than those with recurrent myocardial infarction, which is associated with a lower incidence of postinfarction complications and smaller plasma triglyceride levels. The changes observed in plasma lipid concentrations and platelet aggregation in different periods of the disease have been shown to be similar to those seen in patients with myocardial infarction concurrent with sustained angina.

A lower content of total cholesterol, triglycerides, cholesterol of low density lipoproteins (LDL) and apo B as well as a higher content of cholesterol in high density lipoproteins (HDL) were found in coast and continental Chuckchee land inhabitants as compared with moscowites, which are dissimilar in consumption of polyunsaturated fatty acids n-3. At the same time, the lower content of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and higher concentration of HDL cholesterol were detected in blood plasma of coast inhabitants as compared with continental residents of the Chuckchee land, while content of apo B and triglycerides was similar. Concentration of apoA-I was the same in all three groups of the persons examined.

Thermo-induced structural reorganization in human high density lipoproteins subclasses HDL2 and HDL3 have been studied by means of electronic paramagnetic resonance method. A number of spin labels were used: 5- and 16-DOXYL stearates, DOXYL-labelled derivatives of pentadecane, phosphatidyl choline and sphingomyelin. In hypoalphalipoproteinemia one of the thermo-induced transitions in HDL2 (at 23-30 degrees) was not observed.

A random sample of men (319) aged 20 to 59 was examined in one of the administrative districts in Moscow. A study was made of the blood plasma content of HDL2 and HDL3 cholesterol, triglycerides with relation to insulinemia and glycemia both on an empty stomach and during the GTT. An analysis of the data obtained led to a conclusion that the level of insulinemia was a factor influencing the level of HDL2 and HDL3.

An assessment of one-feature and combined diagnostic value of plasma lipid and apolipoprotein parameters, using stepwise discriminant analysis, was designed to make possible correct differentiation between coronary heart disease (CHD) due to angiographically-verified coronary atherosclerosis and neurocirculatory dystonia (NCD) without signs of coronary arterial affection. The apolipoprotein B/apolipoprotein AI (apo B/apo AI) ratio was shown to be the best single apolipoprotein marker capable of correct differentiation between CHD and NCD in 74% of cases. It was similar to the best lipid diagnostic marker, the cholesterol atherogenic index, in terms of discriminating power.
