Having received the diet supplemented by PUFA "Eicolen", IHD patients present with the restored immune status. Patients with IHD and impaired glucose tolerance did not present with any significant modifications in immune status after PUFA "Eicolen" supplementation.

BAS has been use with an allowance for seasonal fluctuations of microelements sufficiency. The usage of BAS "Lifepack" has priority in spring.

Multifactorial influence of vegetable and fruit juices on the organism, primarily depends on their chemical composition. The necessity of their differentiated use basing not only nosological unity, but also on the degree of functional and metabolic disorders taking place in certain pathology is emphasized.

The level of beta-carotene in clinical diets was the same during trial. Daily consumption of enriched food supplying ingestion of 4-5 mg of beta-carotene increased the level of beta-carotene in serum by 2-4 times.

The treatment with diet containing high level of PUFA did not cause increasing activity of POL.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA state of the anti-oxidation system in blood and the rate of lipid peroxidation were studied in patients with hypertension. High sensitivity of the anti-oxidation system enzymes to alterations in the diet fat composition was detected in the patients, nutrition of whom was evaluated in detail. Excessive doses of alpha-tocopherol, added to the diet enriched with omega 3-polyunsaturated fatty acids normalized lipid peroxidation and stabilized the enzyme activity involved in the anti-oxidation system.

All the patients examined were maintained within 4 weeks on a diet, radioprotective effect of which was realized due to the elevated content of sulfur containing amino acids, antioxidants and complexes. In the patients who lived in the radionuclide-contaminated areas, a moderate activation of lipid peroxidation was detected simultaneously with marked alterations in the humoral component of the immunity system, which involved a considerable increase in the levels of IgG and complements C3 and C4.

SPI-containing diet resulted in changes of CIC IgM levels only. Shifts in the activity of mononuclear and platelet lysosomal hydrolases which occurred in the above patients due to relevant diets reflect higher sensitivity of this parameter in assessment of the dietotherapy effectiveness.

The ichthyenic oil-containing diet decreased distinctly the level of cholesterol, triglycerides and the atherogenicity coefficient simultaneously with an increase of cholesterol content in high density lipoproteins in blood of 37 patients with these diseases. The diet with soy bean protein isolates exhibited less pronounced effects on lipid metabolism patterns in blood serum as compared with the ichthyenic oil-containing diet; however, the former diet contributed to normalization of the immunologic reactions in patients with ischemic heart disease and hypertension.

The effectiveness of the dietotherapy included into the combined treatment was studied in 41 patients with classic and proved RA. The authors have studied the influence of the dietotherapy on the clinical signs characterizing the activity of inflammation in the joints, and laboratory immunological parameters (IgG, IgM, IgA, IgD, the complement components: C1-inhibitor, C3, C4, C5, C9; haptoglobin, orrhozomucoid, transferrin, ceruloplasmin, alpha 1-antitrypsin, alpha 2-macroglobulin, prealbumin).

Where dietary sodium was reduced, extracellular sodium was increased owing to increased residual sodium, while total metabolic sodium dropped, and extracellular fluid increased owing to the increase in interstitial fluid.

Among the out-patients the diet was used by only 76 per cent. A comparative study of the results of diet therapy during the 3-year medical observation has shown a clear tendency to a gradual reduction of hyperlipoproteinemia and excessive body weight in patients who adhered to the diet.

The results of the investigation have evidenced that increased pectin content in the diet promotes the reduction of the total cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood serum, the rise of tolerance to carbohydrates and produces no appreciable effect on the lithogenic potential of bile in the coronary patients.
