Background: Belzutifan is a first-in-class hypoxia-inducible factor subunit 2α (HIF-2α) inhibitor approved at a dose of 120 mg once daily for certain adults with VHL disease and adults with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) following therapy with a programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) [or programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1)] inhibitor and a vascular endothelial growth factor tyrosine kinase inhibitor. However, whether the belzutifan dose could be optimized is unclear.

Patients And Methods: The phase II LITESPARK-013 study (NCT04489771) enrolled patients with advanced clear cell RCC whose disease progressed after one to three prior systemic therapies, including an anti-PD-(L)1 regimen.

Patients with pancreatic cancer (PC) showing mismatch repair (MMR) deficiency may benefit from immunotherapy. Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a hallmark of MMR deficiency (MMR-D). Here, we estimated the prevalence of MSI in PC, investigated germline and somatic mutations in the three MMR genes (, , and ), and assessed the relationship between MMR genes mutations and MSI status in PC.

With the growing use of comprehensive tumor molecular profiling (CTMP), the therapeutic landscape of cancer is rapidly evolving. NGS produces large amounts of genomic data requiring complex analysis and subsequent interpretation. We sought to determine the utility of publicly available knowledge bases (KB) for the interpretation of the cancer mutational profile in clinical practice.

Background: Mutations in homologous recombination (HR) and Fanconi anemia (FA) genes may predispose to pancreatic cancer (PC) and enable the prediction of sensitivity to platinum-based chemotherapy. FOLFIRINOX is a standard treatment option for non-selected PC patients and could be effective due to undiagnosed DNA repair deficiency. Here, we aimed to determine the frequency of mutations in genes involved in the HR and FA pathways, evaluate their clinical implications, and determine the objective response rate (ORR), progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) of PC patients treated with platinum.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly fatal malignancy that has the worst 5-year survival rate of all of the common malignant tumors. Surgery, chemotherapy, and/or chemoradiation remain the main tactics for PDAC treatment. The efficacy of chemotherapy is often compromised because of the substantial risk of severe toxicities.

The aim of our study was to determine the effect of homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) on prognosis and efficacy of platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with pancreatic cancer (PC). We performed PubMed and Embase database queries. We included 4 studies into the meta-analysis and 16 studies in the systematic review.

Anti-PD-1 immunotherapy has a large impact on cancer treatment but the rate of positive treatment outcomes is 40-45% and depends on many factors. One of the factors affecting the outcome of immunotherapy is the gut microbiota composition. This effect has been demonstrated both in model objects and in clinical patients groups.

Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric cancer [EBV-associated GC, EBV( +) GC] is a distinct molecular subtype of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. It accounts for up to 10% of all molecular subtypes of gastric cancer (GC). It has unique genetic and epigenetic features, which determine its definitive phenotype with male and younger age predominance, proximal stomach localization, and diffuse adenocarcinoma histology.

Aim: To improve the outcomes in patients with resectable biliary cancer.

Material And Methods: There were 263 procedures for cholangiocellular carcinoma (CCC) for the period 1998—2017. Adjuvant chemotherapy was performed in 102 (38.

Background: The aim of our study was to evaluate consistency of SMAD4 expression in different tumor areas and its correlation with recurrence pattern in patients after resection for pancreatic cancer (PC).

Methods: Records of patients who underwent resection for nonmetastatic PC between 2001 and 2015 were analyzed. Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections from different areas of primary tumor and lymph node metastases were analyzed immunohistochemically (IHC) for SMAD4 expression using TMA technology.

Unlabelled: Cutaneous melanoma (CM) is a malignant tumor characterized by typical histological features, one of which is tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) that reflect the state of local immunity and determines the course of the disease.

Aim: to study a correlation of the ratio of CD8/Foxp3 T lymphocyte subpopulations infiltrating primary cutaneous melanoma (PCM) with the clinical and morphological factors and prognosis of the disease.

Material And Methods: The CD8+ and FoxP3+ T-lymphocyte subpopulations infiltrating PCM were investigated in 180 cases by immunohistochemical staining with anti-CD8 and anti-FoxP3 antibodies.

Objective: The role of preoperative chemotherapy in squamous cell esophageal carcinoma remains controversial. A prospective trial was initiated to investigate whether preoperative chemotherapy followed by surgery results in increased progression-free survival in patients with resectable thoracic esophageal carcinoma.

Methods: Patients with Stage IIb-IIIa/b resectable esophageal carcinoma were eligible for the study.

A role of maintenance chemotherapy (mCT) in patients (pts) with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) is still controversial. The purpose of this retrospective study was to investigate the toxicity and efficacy of mCT in pts with mCRC. There were 97/291 (33 %) pts with mCRC completed 18-20 weeks of first-line CT from 2007 to 2013 in our center.

Purpose: Patients (pts) with mediastinal nonseminomatous germ cell tumors (MNGCT) are belonged to poor prognostic group by IGCCCG. We retrospectively studied the prognostic factors and efficacy of different chemotherapeutic regimen in pts with MNGCT.

Methods: We analyzed data on 61 pts with MNGCT.

The aim of this study was to analyse the outcome of ovarian cancer depending on the type of surgical debulking, the strategy of treatment of recurrent cancer, and other clinical factors. We performed retrospective analysis of patients with stage IC-IV ovarian cancer treated at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Chemotherapy in 1993-2010. A total of 353 patients were included.

Data on a new marker of multidrug resistance from the group of ABC-transporters--BCRP (breast cancer resistance protein) and in particular the data on the general characteristics of BCRP, spectrum of substrates for this transporter, data on the role of BCRP in human organism, pathways of inhibiting BCRP-dependent transport by pharmacological agents are presented. The data on BCRP expression in human normal tissues and tumor cells are considered in detail. Possible reasons of results inconsistency in evaluation of BCRP expression in different tumors and prognostic significance of BCRP in prediction of sensitivity to chemotherapy and aggressiveness of disease process are discussed.
