The study investigated the effectiveness of using both 2D and 3D pelvic ultrasound techniques to diagnose obstructive Müllerian abnormalities in women, comparing it to MRI results.
Conducted in a tertiary referral hospital, the study analyzed surgical cases and their pre-surgical imaging data from December 2022 to October 2023, focusing on patients with abdominal pain and suspected anomalies.
The findings revealed that pelvic ultrasound diagnoses were 93.1% accurate compared to 82.8% for MRI, suggesting that ultrasound is a valuable tool in diagnosing these conditions and enhancing doctor-patient communication.
