Sustainability has recently become a common context for science teaching due to its potential in terms of learning the content and promoting such universal values as respect for human rights and for other forms of life, the integral development of the person, or participation in democratic processes. The treatment of the Sustainable Development Goals in higher education, improving environmental awareness and promoting sustainable attitudes through didactic interventions of some depth, is the responsibility of teachers and researchers. This study describes a didactic intervention based on the design, implementation, and testing of a Slow Sand Filter.

Caudal duplication syndrome is a rare association of anatomical anomalies describing duplication of the hindgut, spine, and uro-genital structures, leading to varied clinical presentations. The current literature focuses on case reports which describe the embryological etiology and anatomical spectrum of the condition giving little attention to the surgical preparation, the need for a well-structured follow-up program, or the transition into adult healthcare of these complex patients. No reviews have been published regarding this complex pathology.

The binding of an anticancer drug (actinomycin D or ACTD) to double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) was studied by means of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). ACTD is an antitumor antibiotic containing one chromophore group and two pentapeptidic lactone cycles that binds dsDNA. Incubations of ACTD with DNA were performed at physiological pH.
