Functional recovery following the surgical fixation of acetabular posterior wall fractures remains a challenge. This study compares outcomes of posterior wall fracture reconstruction using an anatomical posterior acetabular plate (APAP) versus conventional reconstruction plates. Purpose: The purpose of this systematic review and network meta-analysis was to compare the efficacy of different surgical treatments, including open and arthroscopic modified Broström procedures (MB), anatomical reconstructions, and suture tape augmentations (STA), for chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI).

Methods: We conducted a systematic search for comparative studies that included adult patients with CLAI who underwent open MB, arthroscopic MB, reconstruction with autografts or allografts, and STA. We used a random-effects model to present the NMA results, with mean differences and 95 % confidence intervals (CI) for continuous measures and relative ratios with 95 % CI for dichotomous variables.

This case report sheds light on the management of skeletal deformity in a young child with X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), emphasizing the significance of a timely orthotic intervention alongside pharmacological treatment, which is a strategy not frequently highlighted in the XLH literature. The patient, a 2-year-and-7-month-old female, presented with classic XLH symptoms, including short stature, pronounced genu varum, and hypophosphatemia, with deformities observed in both the coronal and sagittal planes of the femur and tibia. Despite initial reliance on pharmacotherapy, which proved insufficient for skeletal realignment, the integration of orthotic treatment at age 3 marked a pivotal turn in the management strategy.

The study was aimed to validate the efficacy of the pulsed Nd:YAG laser on nerve regeneration in a rat sciatic nerve crushed model. 54 Wistar rats were randomly assigned into three groups: shame control, crush control, and laser treated group. For the laser treated group, the pulsed Nd:YAG laser (10 Hz) with 350 mJ per pulse in energy density and 50 J/cm in fluence was applied extracorporeally at the lesion site for 12 min to daily deliver 500 J immediately and consecutive 9 days following the crush injury.
