In order to improve 3D video coding efficiency, we propose methods to estimate rendered view distortion in synthesized views as a function of the depth map quantization error. Our approach starts by calculating the geometric error caused by the depth map error based on the camera parameters. Then, we estimate the rendered view distortion based on the local video characteristics.

Article Synopsis
  • Annexins (ANXs) are calcium-binding proteins involved in various biological processes, with ANXA10 being the least understood member and primarily expressed in adult liver and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
  • In a study of 182 unifocal primary HCC cases, ANXA10 mRNA was significantly reduced in 66% of samples, and its down-regulation was linked to factors such as p53 mutations, early tumor recurrence, and lower survival rates.
  • The findings suggest that ANXA10 expression is crucial for liver cell differentiation and its loss is associated with more aggressive forms of HCC, indicating its potential as a target for gene therapy.
