Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Shenfu decoction (SFD) prepared with a traditional Chinese formula, on sepsis in rats with the condition induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP), and to study the possible mechanism underlying its action.
Methods: Forty clean-grade male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into three groups: normal control group (NCG, n = 10), model control group (MCG, n = 15) and Shenfu decoction group (SFDG, n = 15). Sham-operated rats in NCG were served as operation control, while rats in both MCG and SFDG were exposed to CLP, a procedure to develop experimental sepsis.

Objective To preliminarily observe syndrome elements of chronic glomerulonephritis by using factor analysis method. Methods Data of four diagnostics were collected from 289 chronic glo- merulonephritis outpatients and inpatients at Dongzhimen Hospital between February 2011 and February 2012. Under the guidance of Chinese medicine ( CM) , the distribution features of syndrome elements of chronic glomerulonephritis were preliminarily observed using factor analysis method.

However, studies differentiated genetic and non-genetic family members are limited. We sought to investigate the prevalence of CKD among fist-degree relatives and spouses of dialysis patients in China.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA sandwich-type immunoassay linked with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) has been developed for the detection of anti-erythropoietin antibodies (anti-EPO Abs). Recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) was immobilized on the solid phase to capture anti-rhEPO Abs specifically. After the immunoreactions with Au-labeled goat-anti-rabbit IgG, a diluted HNO(3) (2%) was used to dissociate Au nanoparticles which was then introduced to the ICP-MS for measurements.

In this work, a simple, sensitive and high-throughput chemiluminescent (CL) imaging assay was developed for the detection of anti-EPO Abs in human sera. The influence of several physicochemical parameters, such as coating conditions, incubation time, detergent concentration and exposure time, were investigated.
